Trent Verlin

Coach Verlin joined Head Coach Alex Hoover's staff in 2022, after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Bowling Green State University. In his time with BGSU, Coach Verlin helped the Falcons to 38 wins, including the program’s first 20-win season in six years in 2021. Working primarily with the Falcon catchers, Verlin helped the team to the second-best caught stealing percentage in the Mid-American Conference.
Prior to his time at Bowling Green, he spent three seasons at NCAA DIII powerhouse Penn State Harrisburg. Working as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator at Harrisburg, he led the Nittany Lions to 71 wins, including a program-record 33 in 2019. The team produced an incredible average of nine runs per game over his three seasons. Verlin was also responsible for recruiting Vermont Gatorade Player of the Year Nick Fitzgerald to the program.
Verlin graduated from the University of the Pacific in 2017, with a degree in sports management. He served as a Student Assistant Coach for the Baseball Program at UoP. He also holds a Master's Degree in Athletic Coaching from Concordia Irvine.
