Virginia Kerns started her soccer career at Lovett as a player from 2006-2011. She was a four year starter and a captain in her senior year before continuing her playing career at Ole Miss...
She also served as a four year captain on her nationally ranked Concorde Fire club team as well as playing for the semi-professional Atlanta Silverbacks during her college years. Coach Kerns returned to Atlanta in 2017 after completing two years as an elementary teacher with Teach for America in Jacksonville, FL. She took a position in Lovett’s Lower School and coached JV soccer team as well as the middle school basketball and cross country teams. In 2019, Coach Kerns continued to coach the JV soccer coach and served as an assistant coach on the varsity team. In 2020 she was named head varsity coach. While that season was disrupted due to COVID, she led her team to winning the 2021 state championship in her first full season as head coach. Coach Kerns also coaches the middle school cross country team in the fall.
