Softball Coaches Alvernia Wes Landrum

Wes Landrum took over at Alvernia in July 2018 staff following 13 years as the head coach at Frostburg State University.

In his first year with Alvernia in 2019, Landrum led the Golden Wolves to a MAC Championship appearance and an overall record of 24-18-1. The following year, Alvernia was off to an 8-4 start before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Landrum began his coaching career as an assistant softball coach for Frostburg State in 2002, and in 2005 he was promoted to head coach. During his 13 years with the program, Landrum accumulated a 321-227 record, and led his team to the conference tournament all 13 years.

In 2010, Frostburg State won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference tournament and earned the program's first berth into the NCAA tournament. Landrum was named the AMCC Coach of the Year in 2010, Capital Athletic Conference Coach of the Year (2017), and ECAC DIII South Coach of the Year (2017).

Since 2005, Landrum has coached 64 all-conference athletes at Frostburg between the AMCC and CAC. He has also coached 12 NFCA All-Region selections, two NFCA All-Americans, and two Capital One Academic All-Americans. Landrum has also coach five Rookie of the Years, two Players of the Year, and a Pitcher of the Year.
