This Cross Country Camp is designed as a comprehensive training program with a focus on cross country fundamentals, including aerobic development, pacing, endurance, strength training, running mechanics, and core strengthening, along with the mental edge training necessary for strong and consistent race performances.
We work with middle and high school cross country runners of all ability levels to help you improve, build confidence, and have fun along the way!

The Nike Cross Country Camp at Loomis Chaffee School features an experienced coaching staff dedicated to developing distance runners of all ability levels. Campers receive expert instruction in cross country–specific training, including aerobic development, pacing and race strategy, drills and running mechanics, strength and plyometrics, and injury prevention.

- Dates: June 28-July 1 (Sunday-Wednesday)
- Age: Ages 12-16

- Camp Types: Day & Overnight
- Check-in:
- Day Campers: 1:00pm-1:30pm on Day 1, 8:45am-9am on Days 2-4
- Overnight Campers: 12:00pm-1:00pm on Day 1
- Check-out: 12:30pm on Day 4 for all campers
- Day Schedule: Day 1: 1:30pm-5:30pm, Day 2-3: 9:00am-5:30pm, Day 4: 9:00am-12:30pm
- Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Lunch and dinner provided for Day campers.

Per Connecticut and Massachusetts Board of Health guidelines, all campers must fill out the CT Health & Liability Form and meet the requirements outlined in the Massachusetts List of Required Vaccinations.
HOUSING
- Dorm: Assigned at check in
- Campers Per Room: 1, 2, or 3 (based on dorm availability)
- Roommates: Guaranteed if requested 14 days prior to camp
- Bathrooms: Shared on floor
- Linens: Not provided. Please bring Size Twin XL sheets.
- Air Conditioning: No, fan recommended
- Key Deposit: $50 check made payable to US Sports Camps
Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEES
- Instruction: Features several instructional sessions per day.
- Overnight Campers: Three hot meals and lodging in boarding school residence halls. An evening recreation program is also included.
- Extended Day campers: Lunch and dinner are provided (Day Campers should eat breakfast before daily check-in).
- Supervision: Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities
- Camp Gear: All campers receive a Nike Running Camp T-shirt

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
- Grouped by: age, ability, and event
- Evaluation: by coaching staff
- Equipment: Campers should bring at least one pair of broken in running shoes. Event shoes/spikes are recommended but not required. Please be sure to properly mark your equipment, so that it can be easily identified.
- Facility: Loomis Chaffee School track & field stadium/surrounding trails
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

GEAR UP FOR CAMP
All Nike Cross Country Campers receive a Nike camp t-shirt as part of their tuition. Additional Nike Camp gear is available for purchase at check-out or can be purchased at any time on our storefront.
MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
CAMP TUITION PAYMENTS
Full payment of camp fees must be completed by the first day of the month before camp. For example:
- June Camps: final payment is due on May 1
- July Camps: final payment is due on June 1
- August Camps: final payment is due on July 1
Any camper with an unpaid balance 10 days before the start of their camp will forfeit all camp fees paid to date and be removed from the camp.
Your confirmation email shows your balance due and balance due date. Final payments can be made through the US Sports Camps Customer Portal or by phone at 1-800-645-3226.
BEHAVIOR POLICIES
We may ask campers who require 1Ă—1 supervision, disrupt the camp experience, or threaten the safety of themselves or others to leave camp. Behaviors meriting expulsion include, but are not limited to: a cause or threat of violence, putting themselves or others in danger, possession of a weapon, possession or use of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, drugs or illegal substance, robbery, damage to property, sexual misconduct or assault, harassment, hazing, racist remarks or acts, or intimidation. In those cases, we will contact a parent to pick up the child immediately. We do not issue refunds to campers who are asked to leave camp.

CANCELLATION DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event a camp day is cancelled or camp hours are adjusted due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to provide make-up time. If make-up time is not possible, no refund will be issued for the first cancelled day or any shortened hours. If additional full days are cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, a pro-rated camp credit voucher will be issued for each cancelled day beyond the first.

Camp Questions & Answers
Does the Health & Release Form need to be signed by a doctor?
Per Connecticut and Massachusetts Board of Health guidelines, all campers must fill out the CT Health & Liability Form and meet the requirements outlined in the Massachusetts List of Required Vaccinations. This form does include a doctor's signature.
Our additional Health & Release Form does not require a doctor’s signature. This form is required to be filled out accurately, signed by the parent (guardian), and submitted in our Customer Portal before camp check-in.
Are the campers supervised throughout the camp?
Yes, campers are supervised by the coaches and staff. Staff members reside in the same dorms as the campers and provide supervision during instruction, dining times, evening activities, and in the dorm. All staff members complete criminal and sex offender background checks before working the camp.
