Nike Junior Golf Camps
The Golf Club at Newcastle plays host to junior golf camp programs just outside of Seattle, Washington. One of the finest courses on the Puget Sound, Newcastle offers top-notch facilities and a professional teaching staff, ideal components for our Nike Junior Golf Camps.
Half Day Camp
This program runs Tuesday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and provides campers of all abilities (ages 8 - 16) the opportunity to work on and improve every part of their game. Half Day campers receive three hours of instruction with emphasis on putting, chipping, bunker play and full swing. Lunch and course play not included.

Camp Director Mark Rashell
Mark Rashell serves as Director of Golf at The Golf Club at Newcastle and is a Class "A" member of the PGA of America. Mark was also recently ranked 7th on Golf Digest's Top 50 Instructors in Washington State (2013).View Mark's Bio ⟩
He has been a PGA Professional for over 8 years, Mark is also a graduate of Methodist University Professional Golf Management program. In Mark’s ten years experience as an instructor he has developed programs for players of all skill levels specializing in juniors and beginners. Past students include high school and junior state champions and European and PGA Tour players. Mark’s fundamental approach to playing better is easy to understand and always positive and fun.
Coach Matt Crotts
Matt Crotts is a PGA Teaching Professional at Newcastle and serves as assistant instructor for the Nike Junior Golf Camps.View Matt's Bio ⟩
Matt Crotts is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management program and a member of the PGA of America since 2009. He has taught over 10,000 Individual lessons and given countless club fittings. He utilizes high speed video, the latest launch monitor and BodiTrak center of pressure technology in every session with his students. Matt has worked with club champions, AJGA and WJGA champions, state high school competitors, as well as hundreds of weekend warriors. Matt is a certified fitter for Callaway, Titleist, Taylormade and a 2014 & 2015 Mizuno top 100 Club Fitter. Matt is very active in the Western Washington Chapter of the PGA and has influences from some of the top teachers in the game. Matt believes in teaching to his student’s goals within their capabilities and to help his students better understand their ball flight. Whether it is a large group clinic or a private lesson Matt has the knowledge and expertise to take your game to the next level.
Coach Jim Prusia
Jim Prusia is a 25+ year member of the PGA of America and serves as assistant coach for Nike Junior Golf Camps.View Jim's Bio ⟩
Jim was voted Carolinas Section PGA Senior Player of the Year 2005 and focuses on fundamental-based instruction for all skill levels. Coach Prusia is also skilled in V1 technology slow motion video swing analysis.
Coach Matt Fredrickson
Matt Fredrickson is a Class "A" Member of the PGA of America and serves as assistant instructor for Nike Junior Golf Camps.
The staff is on hand to provide campers with top quality instruction each day. At Nike Junior Golf Camps we accommodate all skill levels; the junior player just discovering the game, the high school player trying to move up on the team, and the tournament level junior looking to improve his or her tournament results. A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the spring.
Sample Daily Schedule
- 8:50am Campers check-in, warm up
- 9:00am Staff demonstrations, overview of the daily schedule
- 9:15am Group instruction - campers rotate stations working on putting, chipping, pitching, full swing
- 11:00am Skills challenges and games
- Noon Campers depart
