  • Marc, Jaimie, and the entire staff at St. Andrews Golf Travel go out of their way to make the entire experience special. Every detail - tee times, transportation, golf instruction, lodging is looked after meticulously and the result is the golf trip of a lifetime!
  • We planned our golf trip with St. Andrews Golf Travel in June of 2022. The trip was very well organized by the operators (Marc and Jamie) and both organizers were very pleasant, helpful and had an obvious desire to show us the best trip possible. The courses they chose for our group to play were well chosen with respect to difficulty of play, different playing styles and picturesque scenery. Timing of play (in terms of days) was perfect. We had a lot of problems with the travel portion (via British Airways) and Marc and Jamie were more than helpful in arranging transport for us so that we could pick up our lost clubs and getting from A to B in order to get home. I cannot say enough about this company - should you be planning a visit to play golf in St. Andrews, this is the company to use. Everything is 5-star and no lack of attention to detail. Everything was perfect. Thank you St Andrews Golf Travel!!!
  • FIRST CLASS!!! Marc and Jamie make you feel like your at home right away! The instruction that they coordinate is world class elite level. Further, everyone associated with them is so friendly! Everyone in Scotland, St Andrews and surrounding areas is so nice and welcoming. It’s definitely one I’ll return to many times!
  • Highly unique experience being a parent-child camp overseas. Tyler had fun but didn't have as many same-age golfers to connect with (most were either younger or older). 5 days of consecutive golf and instruction was physically too much so I'd recommend having a one day break in between. Also, it wasn't necessary to play both Fairmont golf courses. I would have like to have played more traditional St Andrews course than these. Kingsbarn was a highlight.
  • Best experience ever! Thanks to Mark and Jaime for the great job they did organizing, and hosting this event for our family. My husband and I explored beyond St Andrews thanks to Jaime connecting us with a wonderful driver, Fraser! I will definitely recommend St Andrews Golf Travel, I know we'll love to work with them again.
  • Great all around experience! Playing excellent links courses, staying in a comfortable hotel and enjoying the unforgettable atmosphere that is St Andrews - could not ask for more!
  • There are very few things in life that live up to the hype, and even fewer things that exceed it. Our trip last week exceeded the hype. You guys do it right all the way around. I won't go on and on here, but your personal service was exceptional. Words don't do it justice to how relaxing it was to have everything all set up, being driven around and not worrying, and all the personal touches. I'll end by saying a very heartfelt thank you. You guys are a class act and wonderful hosts. I hope to be able to come back soon.

St Andrews Links® Golf Courses

St Andrews is famously known around the world as the Home of Golf. In total the town has 189 holes of golf to choose from which offers juniors on our golf camps an exciting variety of links golf to experience. St Andrews Links Trust currently operates six courses on the links – the world-renowned Old Course, the New Course (established in 1895), the Jubilee (1897), the Eden (1914), the Strathtyrum (1993) and the nine-hole Balgove. A seventh – The Castle Course – has been built in a panoramic coastal setting to the south of the town.

*Courses scheduled are below, but parents are welcome to place their name on the lottery, extend their trip and play The Old Course.

Balcomie at Crail Golfing Society

In 1786, two years before George Washington was elected the first President of the USA and three years before the storming of the Bastille in Paris, a
group of eleven gentlemen met at the Golf Inn in Crail and together formed the Crail Golfing Society. Since then, through the upheaval of the French

Revolution, the Napoleonic Wars, the Victorian Age, two World Wars and the Cold War, the gentlemen of Crail have continued to enjoy their golf while
playing a full role in the events happening around them. Click on the 'Journey Through History' tab to see a fascinating chart showing the significant
events at Crail Golfing Society alongside significant events in the rest of the golfing world, and the wider world.

There is evidence that golf was played in Crail long before 1786, on part of the farm at Sauchope under a dual rights of occupancy arrangement – golfing
and grazing. According to the Gazetteer of Scotland published in 1832 there was a golf club at Crail in 1760 – there are no records.

Dumbarnie Links

Other than Pebble Beach, there are few world-class courses able to offer such an expanse of beach and water frontage as that we have been blessed with at Dumbarnie Links. Of the 34,000 golf courses currently in play around the world, only 246 of them are authentic links courses. Of these, only around 40 are internationally recognized 5 Star links, and yet over thirty of these appear in The World’s Top 100 Golf Courses. The most famous is the Old Course at St Andrews on the shores of Fife, on the east coast of Scotland. Premier links are very rare and have great cachè value.

The aim of our partnership is to produce a world-class, prestigious daily fee golf course on a site of genuine links land that is only minutes away from St Andrews, the “Home of Golf.” This rare piece of land has a mile and a half of sea frontage with panoramic views over the Firth of Forth.

Kingsbarns Golf Links

In the eighth decade of the 18th Century, at the same time as the Thirteen States were declaring their independence and the
Constitution of the United States was scripted, the Merchants and Lairds of Kingsbarns drafted articles to form the Kingsbarns Golfing Society. Golf has been enjoyed over the links land of Kingsbarns beginning in 1793. Attired in their blue coats, the Kingsbarns men met for their Spring and Autumn Meetings to challenge for the Societies medals on the links and to enjoy the conviviality of friends over dinner in the Golfers Hall. The Society continued to wager, wine and dine for decades until the Cambo Estate tenant farmer ploughed up the Links in 1850 in order to add to his farmable area.

Prompted and inspired by Lady Erskine of Cambo, the old Kingsbarns Golfing Society was re-established and founded as Kingsbarns Golf Club in 1922 and Willie Auchterlonie laid out a nine-hole course on the links about Kingsbarns Bay. This course served the golfing needs of the locals and holidaymakers until the onset of the Second World War when the Links was mined in the national security defense effort and it quickly reverted to rough pasture. Golf was resurrected on Kingsbarns Links in 2000. Kingsbarns joined the great old courses of nearby St Andrews and Carnoustie, bringing with it a new dimension to the traditional Scottish game.

Fife.

golfers’ menu. And their award winning Road Hole Bar offers Scotland’s finest malt whiskies from over 200 distilleries!

The Castle Course

Also known as course No. 7 of the famed St. Andrews Link Trust, the Castle course adds to the brilliance of possibly the world's best collection of links golf courses. Opened in the summer of 2008, the Castle course was designed by David McLay Kidd, the designer of the heralded Bandon Dunes course in Oregon in the U.S.

The Castle course follows the coastline east of St Andrews and is just two miles from the center of town. Kidd has worked wonders with the already brilliant landscape, making the Castle course a perfect fit to the Trust's other six golf courses, with outstanding scenery and a challenging level of play.

Playing to more than 7,000 yards from the back tees, the Castle course has golfers around the globe excited to try out the newest golf course in one of golf's premier vacation destinations. Following the coastline east of St Andrews, The Castle Course is two miles from the town center and lies adjacent to The Torrance Course and Fairmont Resort.

The Eden

One of the six courses under the guidance of the St Andrews Links Trust, the Eden is a delightful links course and one of the Links' more popular tracts. The fairways are not especially tight, although there are bordered by whins with thick semi rough just in front. The greens are one of the highlights round this course and if you get on the wrong side you can be left with a treacherous 30-footer that's full of curves and contours. The closing stretch of holes are superb, with the long 17th featuring out of-bounds on the right and the 18th, which has a wonderful, teasing approach shot into an undulating green.

The Strathtyrum

Designed by Donald Steel to offer enjoyable golf, the course complements the tougher, championship layouts at the 'Home of Golf'. It is shorter and, with only 15 bunkers, a relatively sand-free environment by St Andrews' usual standards.

It still requires, however, a considerable level of skill if it is to be negotiated successfully. Although few in number, the bunkers are cunningly placed and the moundings around the green place a considerable emphasis on iron play accuracy. The greens themselves have slopes and borrows which can make taking more than the regulation two putts all too easy and give a links-like feel to the layout.

The Kittocks

This stunning cliff top course was originally named the Devlin Course after one of the three designers who worked on it (the other two being Gene Sarazen and Denis Griffiths). The natural makeup of this coastal location has been used to its fullest even to the extent of incorporating a deep ravine known as Kittock's Den within the layout. As dramatic as many of the holes are due to their proximity to the North Sea shoreline, it is the 15th that takes the honorary title of signature hole; a long, par-4 dogleg that leads to the cliff-edge green.

The Kittocks is a great test of golf and has the added advantage of having golf carts available for hire.
