US Sports Camps is excited to be back this summer at Adelphi University, located in the picturesque village of Garden City, New York which is sure to be a Nike Lacrosse camp favorite for many. In nine years at the helm, McCabe has guided the Panthers in their championship tradition, adding three NCAA Division II national crowns to the team's resumé while reaching the national championship game in his first three years.

The university's great location, outstanding facilities and talented coaching staff make Adelphi University a popular destination for young athletes to improve their lacrosse skills each summer. Our goal is to stimulate a love for the game by immersing you in the sport and giving you the kind of focused, intensive training essential to improvement. Over the course of camp, your enthusiasm and self-confidence will grow along with your skills.

    Pat McCabe was announced as the fourth head coach of the women's lacrosse program on Sept. 4, 2014, and enters his eleventh season at the helm in 2025. Coach McCabe was recently inducted into the PLL inaugural Professional Lacrosse Hall of Fame Class. McCabe is one of 11 players to make the 2022 Class.

    In eight years at the helm, McCabe has guided the Panthers in their championship tradition, adding three NCAA Division II national crowns to the team's resumé while reaching the national championship game in his first three years. The squad has also won three Northeast-10 Championships, running the team's total to seven in nine seasons.

    A National Hall of Fame defenseman, McCabe started his illustrious playing career at Elmont Memorial High School, where he led the program to a New York State Championship. In 1987, he matriculated at Syracuse, where he won three NCAA Division I National Championships, earned four United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American honors and was the 1990 NCAA Defensive Player of The Year.

    Following college, McCabe moved into the professional ranks, playing for the New York Saints of the National Lacrosse League from 1992-2001, with seven years as team captain. In 2001, he joined the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse, spending six years with team, all of them as captain. He also helped the Lizards to MLL Championships in 2001 and 2003.

    McCabe also brings a wealth of international experience to Adelphi. He first donned a USA jersey in 1988 as part of the U19 team at the World Championships in Adelaide, Australia, where he earned "Fairest and Best Player" honors. He followed that up with inclusion on the 1990 (alternate), 1998 and 2006 United States national teams, earning a gold medal in 1998 and a silver medal at the 2006 World Championships.

    On his collegiate coaching resume, McCabe spent time as a defensive coordinator with the LIU Post men's lacrosse program from 1999-2001, helping the Pioneers to NCAA Division II runner-up finishes in 1999 and 2000. He was also a member of the Adelphi University men's lacrosse coaching staff in 2011, pushing the Panthers to NCAA Division II runner-up status.

    McCabe is also the founder and camp director for Shooting Star Lacrosse camps, which have operated since 1999, and founded ICON Lacrosse.

    Frankie Caridi enters her ninth season with the Adelphi University women's lacrosse team in 2025, after returning to the program where she began her college career in the summer of 2016.

    Caridi returned to Adelphi after spending 2016 on the sidelines at her alma mater, Stony Brook, and the 2015 campaign with the Bucknell coaching staff. She helped the Seawolves to a fourth straight America East Championship and a defeat of Boston College, 11-9 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Under Caridi's tutelage, freshman goalie Anna Tesoriero was named to the All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie Team.

    As a student-athlete, Caridi spent one year at Adelphi before transferring to spend her final three years at Stony Brook. As a Panther, the East Northport, N.Y. native started all 20 games for the Brown and Gold, and went 20-0 on the way to a National Championship. She was named the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year in addition to an IWLCA First Team All-American.

    In the Division I ranks, Caridi became one of the most prolific goalies in Stony Brook program history. Her .514 career save percentage is tops in the Seawolves' record book, while her 5.91 goals-against average is the best among any goalie with at least 1500 minutes played. Caridi won two America East championships and qualified for two NCAA tournaments, earning IWLCA Third-Team All-American status in 2014.

    Additionally, she was named the Lacrosse Magazine and ILWomen.com Goalie of the Year, picked as the America East Defensive Player of the Year, a nominee for the Tewaaraton Award, and a two-time IWLCA First-Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection.

At the Nike Girls Lacrosse Camp at Adelphi University, our goal is to provide campers the fundamental skills, position specific training and in-game tactical knowledge needed to enhance your game. Over the course of camp, your enthusiasm and self-confidence will grow along with your skills. This year Adelphi is offering one session of Day Camp (9:00 AM to 2:00 PM) option available.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your cleats, protective goggles & mouthpiece, lacrosse stick(s), helmet and pads (Goalies)
  • Facility: Motamed Field at Adelphi University
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRANSPORTATION
