US Sports Camps is proud to partner with Adelphi University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Pat McCabe to bring a truly unique camp experience to Mooresville, North Carolina. Coach McCabe brings a wealth of knowledge and championship-level expertise to the field. During his 13 seasons leading the Panthers, he has continued Adelphi's tradition of excellence, capturing three NCAA Division II National Championships and guiding the program to multiple NCAA Final Four appearances, including runs in 2022, 2024, and 2025.

    Camp Director

    Pat McCabe was announced as the fourth head coach of the women's lacrosse program on Sept. 4, 2014, and enters his eleventh season at the helm in 2025. Coach McCabe was recently inducted into the PLL inaugural Professional Lacrosse Hall of Fame Class. McCabe is one of 11 players to make the 2022 Class.

    In eight years at the helm, McCabe has guided the Panthers in their championship tradition, adding three NCAA Division II national crowns to the team's resumé while reaching the national championship game in his first three years. The squad has also won three Northeast-10 Championships, running the team's total to seven in nine seasons.

    A National Hall of Fame defenseman, McCabe started his illustrious playing career at Elmont Memorial High School, where he led the program to a New York State Championship. In 1987, he matriculated at Syracuse, where he won three NCAA Division I National Championships, earned four United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American honors and was the 1990 NCAA Defensive Player of The Year.

    Following college, McCabe moved into the professional ranks, playing for the New York Saints of the National Lacrosse League from 1992-2001, with seven years as team captain. In 2001, he joined the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse, spending six years with team, all of them as captain. He also helped the Lizards to MLL Championships in 2001 and 2003.

    McCabe also brings a wealth of international experience to Adelphi. He first donned a USA jersey in 1988 as part of the U19 team at the World Championships in Adelaide, Australia, where he earned "Fairest and Best Player" honors. He followed that up with inclusion on the 1990 (alternate), 1998 and 2006 United States national teams, earning a gold medal in 1998 and a silver medal at the 2006 World Championships.

    On his collegiate coaching resume, McCabe spent time as a defensive coordinator with the LIU Post men's lacrosse program from 1999-2001, helping the Pioneers to NCAA Division II runner-up finishes in 1999 and 2000. He was also a member of the Adelphi University men's lacrosse coaching staff in 2011, pushing the Panthers to NCAA Division II runner-up status.

    McCabe is also the founder and camp director for Shooting Star Lacrosse camps, which have operated since 1999, and founded ICON Lacrosse.

You can expect a high demand for these first-come-first-served camper spots, so please be sure to register early. At the Nike Girls Lacrosse Camp in Mooresville, North Carolina. Our goal is to provide campers the fundamental skills, position specific training and in-game tactical knowledge needed to enhance your game. Over the course of camp, your enthusiasm and self-confidence will grow along with your skills. This year Coach McCabe is offering one session of Day Camp (9:00 AM to 1:00 PM) in Mooresville, North Carolina.

DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE

  • Team Discount: If five or more campers register together, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. After all team members have successfully registered, contact us to receive a $25 refund per camper.

CAMP CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

Monday, July 13th to Thursday, July 16th

  • Check-in: 4:45pm on Friday at the fields.
  • Check-in: 8:45am on Saturday and Sunday at fields.
  • Check-out: 8:00pm on Friday at fields.
  • Check-out: 1:00pm on Saturday and Sunday at fields.

MEALS

Lunch is NOT provided. Please bring a healthy lunch and snacks each day.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.
  • Reversible Jersey & Prizes: Campers will receive a Nike Lacrosse Reversible Jersey and prizes.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your cleats, protective goggles & mouthpiece, lacrosse stick(s), helmet and pads (Goalies)
  • Facility: Cornelius Road Park
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours, so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
