In her five seasons at the helm, Piontek has coached a pair of GSC superlative award winners with a Defender of the Year award winner in 2023 and a Freshman of the Year award winner following the 2024 season while also coaching nine All-GSC athletes in her tenure.

Piontek, the second head coach in the history of the program, previously spent two seasons as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina, and brings four years of experience as an assistant coach across the NCAA Division I and Division II levels.

During her tenure at Lenoir-Rhyne, Piontek served as the defensive coordinator while assisting with recruiting both on and off campus, managing team travel and creating scouting reports on opponents.

Piontek helped guide Lenoir-Rhyne to a 21-16 record during her two-year tenure, including a perfect 9-0 record in South Atlantic Conference games in 2018, while helping the Bears reach the South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship game in both seasons.

Prior to her tenure at Lenoir-Rhyne, Piontek served as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at two different NCAA Division I institutions, spending the 2016-17 academic year at Coastal Carolina University and serving one year at Kennesaw State University during the 2015-16 academic year.

While completing her master’s degree in sport management from Wingate University, Piontek served as a graduate assistant for the Bulldogs for two seasons. Piontek helped get the Bulldogs’ program off the ground as Wingate finished 9-8 on the season and earned a berth in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament in 2015.

Piontek earned her bachelor’s degree in sport administration in 2013 from the University of Cincinnati, where she was a four-year member of the Bearcats’ women’s lacrosse program and served as a team captain during her senior season.
