Nike Baseball Camps Team up with USC Trojans Baseball to offer 6 weeks of camp.

Nike Baseball Camps, a division of US Sports Camps, the largest provider of sports camps in the world, is excited to announce the addition of six youth baseball camps at the University of Southern California. Directing the camp will be former professional and current USC Assistant Coach Bobby Andrews accompanied by current USC coaches plus former and current players. The camps will be held on campus at the state-of-the-art Dedeaux Field in Los Angeles, California.

The Trojans' baseball program has had unrivaled success having won a total of 12 National Championships. They have also made 21 appearances at the College World Series and sent more players to the big leagues than any other school, with a total of 114 major-leaguers.

The Trojans look to enter a new era of success under Head Coach Jason Gill who took the reins in June of 2019. Coach Gill has College World Series experience as a player and as a coach, making trips to Omaha on four occasions. With over two decades of coaching experience, Gill is known as an outstanding recruiter and developer of talent. While at LMU, he saw 31 players selected in the MLB Draft. Gill has also recently Ted Silva from University of Nebraska and Bobby Andrews from LMU to his coaching staff at USC.

Coach Andrews will be serving as the Nike Baseball Camp Director. Andrews served as an assistant coach to Gill at LMU, where they took the team to its first postseason appearance in 19 years. Before coaching, Andrews had a very successful playing career, including a national championship while playing at Cal State Fullerton. Coach Andrews was then drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and went on to play for them for four years, appearing in 327 games.

At camp ballplayers of all abilities will team up with the Trojans and get to play on the world-class Dedeaux Field. Campers will receive focused training from USC's experienced coaching staff, which is made up of current coaches, current and former professional ballplayers, and current and former Trojans. Campers will work on fine-tuning their techniques to improve their hitting, pitching, catching, infield, outfield base-running and team defense. The coaching staff will use a positive coaching approach, to raise the confidence and overall level of play, while taking pride in making the camp sessions fun and having each camper leave a better ballplayer.

The Nike Baseball Camp at the University of Southern California will run six camp sessions over the summer. Each camp will run for four consecutive days, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with an option of extended care from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Camp dates are as follows:

  • June 29th – July 2nd
  • July 6th – July 9th
  • July 20th – July 23rd
  • July 27th – July 30th
  • August 10th – August 13th
  • August 17th – August 20th

Every facet of the game is covered with an emphasis on fundamentals to help players become valuable team members. At each location, campers are broken into groups with other players of similar age, abilities and goals. Each camp director does their best to advance players to the next level, keeping in consideration each camper’s experience and desire to improve.
