Nike Running Camps Announces 2020 Dates For The Lake Tahoe High Altitude Cross Country Camp

Our 2020 Lake Tahoe High Altitude XC Camp is sure to provide a memorable summer camp experience in Tahoe City!

Nike Running Camps, a division of US Sports Camps, the largest provider of sports camps in the world, announces dates for the amazing Nike Lake Tahoe High Altitude XC Camp, August 9-13, 2020. Returning to Tahoe for its second year, the camp welcomes campers from across the U.S. to attend and experience high altitude training while preparing for their upcoming cross-country season.

Camp Director and Coach AJ Acosta says, “I’m thankful and excited for the opportunity to direct the Lake Tahoe High Altitude Camp and especially looking forward to working with such an enthusiastic group of athletes looking to better their craft. We’ve lined up a very energized and knowledgeable group of counselors and staff who deliver a unique perspective and experience for our campers. And the fact that we get to do it in a place as beautiful and serene as Lake Tahoe, with its access to hundreds of miles of trail options, truly underscores how special this camp experience is for all. Looking forward to seeing you all in August!” Acosta has a long-storied career spanning his high school years as national champion, who won the 2005 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships, through his years as a University of Oregon runner, as an eight-time All-American and a 2x US Olympic Trial participant. Acosta currently coaches at Bishop O'Dowd High School, Alameda, CA.

Campers stay at the beautiful Granlibakken Resort in Tahoe City. The Camp offers the perfect mix of learning, training, and recreation for both high school and middle school runners. It delivers an action-packed week of training, competition, and fun evening activities.

The camp is coed, ages 12-18. All ability levels are welcome, runners are placed in appropriate groups paced on fitness and pace.
