Hoosiers Men’s Golf welcomes back young players for summer golf camp as the Pfau Indiana University Golf Course is set to re-open following its extensive renovation.

February 5, 2020 – US Sports Camps recently announced the re-opening of its summer junior golf camp at Indiana University for 2020. Hosted by the IU Men’s Golf Team and Head Coach, Mike Mayer, the Hoosier Junior Golf Camp is an opportunity for players from across the country to receive instruction from Division I coaches and expose themselves to the IU campus culture.

“We are thrilled to be hosting a junior golf camp again at Indiana University,” says Coach Mayer. “Our team short game facility continues to be one of the best in the country and, with the addition of the Pfau Course at Indiana University, we feel we have one of the best overall golf facilities in the Midwest. The Pfau Course will give our campers an opportunity to play and train at one of the top collegiate courses in the country. We anxiously look forward to hosting junior golfers from around the country this summer at our Hoosier Golf Camp.”

Mike Mayer enters his 22nd season as the head coach for Indiana University Men’s Golf and has boasted an impressive track record during his tenure at the helm. Apart from the impressive tournament results by the team and individual IU players over the past 21 seasons, his players have also excelled academically. The Hoosier men’s golf team has posted a perfect Academic Progress Rate score of 1000 in each of the last 12 years.

“We are very happy to be back with Coach Mayer at Indiana University,” said Jason West, senior vice-president for US Sports Camps, Inc. “He always assembles a great staff of college coaches to join him and our campers now have full access to what is absolutely one of the best college golf facilities anywhere in the country.”

The new Pfau Course at Indiana University includes an 18-hole championship golf course that stretches to 7900 yards from the back tees and includes 147 bunkers, a two-sided practice range, and a short game facility of its own which includes a large putting complex and two pitching/chipping greens.

The Hoosier Junior Golf Camp offers one overnight camp session from June 21-25, 2020. Each day, campers shuttle to the Pfau Course at IU for training at the practice facility and on-course instruction with the camp staff. The camp includes all lodging (on campus at IU), meals, greens fees, golf instruction and evening activities. The camp is open to any and all entrants and is only limited by age, gender and number.
