Jon Whithaus – A Nike Golf Camp Success Story
February 25, 2022 – Apart from his illustrious career as a coach for Ohio Wesleyan and Duke University Men’s and Women’s Golf, Jon Whithaus operates his own golf academy, Elite Level Golf (ELG). Jon Whithaus and his ELG team offer private instruction for LPGA and PGA Tour pros, as well as players on many other professional circuits. And, unbeknownst to many, Whithaus has also quietly built the largest college camp franchise in the country.
Starting with one short game camp at Ohio Wesleyan in 2016, Jon now runs over twenty (20) Nike Junior Golf Camp locations at universities and luxury resorts from Pennsylvania to Oregon. His network includes institutional camps at Division I, II, and III schools, short game camps and the Nike Camps’ entire network of college showcase programs, of which he serves as national coordinator.

It is estimated 6,000 to 8,000 junior golfers attend a collegiate camp each year, and Whithaus is slated to host upwards of 800 juniors across all institutional camps and showcase programs this summer. Thus, his impression in the collegiate instruction world is felt by many.
Jon Whithaus is entering his seventh season as the assistant women’s golf coach at Duke University. Over the three years prior to joining the women’s program, Whithaus worked as a coach, instructor and caddie in professional events on the European Tour, Asian Tour, Sunshine Tour and Challenge Tour. Before coaching at Duke, Whithaus served as the men’s head coach of the Ohio Wesleyan program from 1997-2009.
