NIKE Softball Camps Announces Its New Camp Location At Davenport University, July 22-25
San Rafael, CA - NIKE Softball Camps offers locations nationwide for players ages 6-18 and is pleased to announce its latest day camp addition at Davenport University, July 22-25, to the 2012 NIKE Softball Camp schedule.
“Each summer we look to improve our offerings of NIKE Softball Camp across the country. This summer is no exception with the addition of Davenport University” says Mike de Surville, Vice President of US Sports Camps. “Our camp Directors are our partners and as such have a major stake in providing camps of the highest quality; camps that are fun and improve the skills of each camper.”
Leading instruction is Head Coach Ronda Varnesdeel. Varnesdeel begins her fourth season at the helm of the Softball program at Davenport. In 2010, Varnesdeel guided DU to a 46-16 overall record and they followed with a 38-18 mark in 2011. She is joined by Assistant Coach Kristin Miedema as well as members of the Davenport Softball Team. At camp, the staff covers the mechanics of fielding, hitting, and the mental side to game-time situations.
Nike Softball Camps provide focused, intensive training that is essential to improvement for all skill levels. Every facet of the game is covered with an emphasis on fundamentals to help players become valuable team members. At each location, campers are broken into groups with other players of similar age, abilities and goals. Each camp director does their best to advance players to the next level, keeping in consideration each camper’s experience and desire to improve.
