San Rafael, CA (February 28, 2024) - For the second time in her illustrious career, USC Head Coach Lea Maurer has been named the Pac-12 Women's Swimming Coach of the Year. This accolade comes as Maurer led the Trojans to unprecedented success during the 2023-24 season.

Maurer made history with the Trojans this season, guiding them to their first-ever 9-0 undefeated record, securing the most regular-season wins in conference history. Notably, the Trojans triumphed over both No. 5 California and No. 4 Stanford, achieving a feat not seen since 1996.

The Pac-12 Championships witnessed USC's stellar performance, as the team accumulated 1291 points, clinching a second-place finish and claiming the most event wins since 2003 (9). At the NCAAs, the Trojans secured eighth place overall, marking their best finish since 2016 with 200 points. Eight Trojans earned All-America honors at the NCAA Championships, with four USC relays earning first-team honors.

This marks Maurer's second time receiving the prestigious award, the first being in 2010 when she coached the Stanford Cardinals. She now joins an elite group as just the third USC coach to be honored with this distinction.

"We are incredibly proud of Coach Lea Maurer's outstanding leadership and achievements," said Senior Vice President at US Sports Camps, Paul Merrion. "We are honored to have her at the helm of our USC Swim Camp. This recognition is well-deserved, and we look forward to continued success under her guidance."

In conjunction with Coach Maurer's recognition, the University of Southern California is excited to announce the 2024 USC Swim Camp. This year's camp promises an exceptional experience for competitive swimmers looking to enhance their skills.

Campers will receive concentrated instruction on all four strokes, along with starts and turns, at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center located on the beautiful USC campus. Our camp offers four overnight options, providing flexibility for attendees. With detailed instruction on technique, focused training on starts, turns, and relay exchanges, as well as engaging lectures on sports nutrition, sports psychology, and other relevant topics, this promises to be an amazing camp opportunity for swimmers to improve and hone their craft.
