Nike Tennis Camps come to Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio

US Sports Camps announced plans to offer Nike Junior Tennis Camps at Xavier University this summer.

“Coach Polito has directed and been a part of the Nike Tennis Camps network for many years,” states Matt Kurlander, vice president of Nike Tennis Camps. “Under his leadership, and with a prime location such as Xavier University, you have the formula for a truly memorable week of camp.”

Xavier University, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, will host to two weeks of junior tennis camp this upcoming summer during the weeks of July 19-24 and July 26-31, with both day and overnight options.  Directed by Cleveland State Associate men's and women's tennis coach, Frank Polito, this junior tennis camp will combine technical tennis instruction and drilling from a top notch coaching staff, supervised match play, and a variety of evening social activities.

Frank Polito rejoined the Cleveland State men’s tennis coaching staff during the 2014-15 season, serving as the associate head coach. Polito, who was an assistant coach with the Vikings from September 2012 through February 2014, returns to collegiate tennis after a brief stint as the head boys and girls coach at Hawken School in Gates Mills, Ohio.  During Polito’s first stint at Cleveland State, the men’s team captured its fifth Horizon League title and had three players earn All-League honors, while the women advanced to the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament for the fourth straight season and also had three players earn postseason honors.  Polito joined the Cleveland State coaching staff during the 2012-13 season after a six-year stint as an assistant coach with the women’s tennis team at Georgia. For his efforts with the Bulldogs, Polito was named the 2008 Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association South Region Assistant Coach of the Year, and promoted to associate head coach in September of 2010.

“I am very excited to host at Xavier University this summer,” states Polito. “My staff of college players and I are very excited to be affiliated with the best camps in the country.  We look forward to seeing you on the courts.”

The tennis camps provide first-rate tennis instruction and match play, all in a fun, spirited atmosphere. More than 230,000 athletes have attended the camps over the course of Nike Tennis Camps’ 36-year history.
