Join us in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, for the Nike Junior Pickleball Camp at Pickleball U! This half-day camp is designed for players ages 10-17 of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, participants can expect a fun, dynamic, and supportive environment where you'll work towards enhancing your game, building lasting connections, and taking your pickleball experience to the next level.
The expert Nike Pickleball coaching staff is committed to helping players develop essential pickleball skills, refine their technique, and improve strategies. Whether focusing on fundamentals or more advanced tactics, participants will receive guidance and training through dynamic drills, exciting match play, and more!

Camp Director Dan Willet
Dan Willett has over 20 years of experience as a competitive volleyball player, where he served as team captain and setter. In addition to volleyball, Dan has a strong background in racquetball and has competed in numerous tournaments. For the past five years, he has dedicated himself to competitive pickleball, training with some of the top coaches in the Boston area. Dan has achieved national success in both Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, earning medals in nearly every 4.5+/5.0 tournament he's entered. His favorite shot on the court is the “Ernie.” Dan is both PPR and DUPR certified and is fully insured to teach pickleball. Known for his passion and deep understanding of the game, Dan has a keen eye for correcting mechanics and advancing strategic play across all levels. He specializes in coaching intermediate to advanced players and enjoys helping others elevate their skills in an engaging and enjoyable way. Together with his Men’s Doubles partner, Chris Dion, Dan co-owns Tactical Pickleball, a coaching business known for its effective and unique team-based coaching style. Dan and Chris also provide one-on-one coaching and are proud to be Gearbox-sponsored athletes. Fun Fact: Dan’s favorite shot is the Ernie.Specialties: Team coaching, tactical development, advanced mechanics.

Camp Director Chris Dion
Chris Dion brings a rich background in athletics, having played competitive basketball through high school and college. He went on to coach basketball at both youth and collegiate levels and remains active as a certified basketball referee in Central Massachusetts leagues. Chris began playing pickleball six years ago and, like Dan, is PPR and DUPR certified and fully insured to teach. He combines his coaching experience with a deep passion for pickleball, focusing on skill development and tactical awareness from basic to advanced levels. His signature shot is the “strategic lob.” Chris has medaled in nearly every 4.5+/5.0 tournament he and Dan have competed in. Together, they co-founded Tactical Pickleball, offering a dynamic coaching experience tailored for individuals and teams. Their collaborative, fun-focused approach has led to many success stories among intermediate and advanced players. Chris and Dan are also proud Gearbox-sponsored players. Fun Fact: Chris’s signature move is the Strategic Lob.Specialties: Game strategy, partner communication, skill progression.

Camp Director Jay Novack
Jay Novack has been added to the PickleballU team as Pickleball Director. Jay is also a recent graduate of the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) and USA Pickleball Association (USAPA) Level 1 instructor certification program and will be heading up our individual and group instruction programs at PickleballU. Jay started his Pickleball journey in 2020 after picking up his first paddle while joining a corporate team-building exercise while in the Phoenix area. Jay has been an advocate and ambassador for PickleballU and the growth of the sport of pickleball. Jay leads Learn to Play classes, individual and group training sessions and instruction. Jay looks forward to meeting and developing programs specifically focused on our member's goals.

CAMP PROGRAM INFORMATION
- Camp Type(s) Offered: Half Day (Monday-Thursday 9:00am-12:00pm)
- Gender: Coed
- Age Range: 10-17
- Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
SKILL LEVELS & GROUP PLACEMENT
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. Participants are then sorted by ability first, then age per the Camp Director's discretion - adjustments are made as needed during camp.
While there are many ways to define skill levels, the following descriptions are what the Camp Directors at Nike Pickleball Camps will use to organize and group camp participants. At the time of registration, please choose the level that best represents your experience:
Beginner: Players at this level are new to pickleball and have little to no experience. They can hit basic shots and possess a fundamental understanding of the rules, scoring, and court positioning. Focus is on building confidence and familiarity with the game. (No rating or DUPR rating 1.0 - 2.5)
Intermediate: Players at this level understand the rules and strategy of pickleball and can sustain rallies using a mix of shots. They can hit with some spin and accuracy, resulting in fewer unforced errors. Focus is on refining technique, improving court awareness, and developing strategic play. (DUPR rating 3.0-3.5)
- Advanced: Players at this level are proficient in all aspects of the game and employ advanced strategies. They exhibit strong footwork and a deep understanding of gameplay dynamics. This level focuses on competitive play, advanced shot-making, and tactical decision-making. (DUPR rating 4.0+)
CAMP CHECK-IN/OUT
- Check-in: Monday at 9:00am
- Check-out: Thursday at 12:00pm

- Daily Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9:00am-12:00pm
MEALS
- Meals are NOT included in the camp tuition. Participants should bring their own lunch and water each day.
EQUIPMENT, FACILITY & MORE
- Equipment Needed: All campers must bring a pickleball paddle, athletic shoes and a water bottle
- Facility: Pickleball U (6 premium climate controlled indoor courts)

If there are any imperative changes prior to camp start, registered campers will be notified via email and this webpage will be updated!
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before camp check-in, you will receive a camp credit voucher for the tuition fees paid, valid for one year for any sport and transferable to any immediate family member. Please note that participants who do not attend their registered session (no-shows) or fail to notify USSC at least 24 hours prior to check-in will not receive a voucher or refund.
Refunds are available only if the Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration and the cancellation is made before your payment due date (1st of the month prior to your camp start date).
