    Head Women's Soccer Coach - Mount St. Joseph University

    A Wisconsin native and former University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh student-athlete, Gallagher was most recently a scouting manager with FC Cincinnati after previously serving as an operations manager with the club. Gallagher boasts years of collegiate soccer coaching experience, as well as stints in various levels of professional soccer...

    Gallagher has spent the last three years in pro soccer, in operational roles first for Switchbacks FC and next FCC. He spent a season as a head men’s and women’s soccer assistant at Illinois Springfield after serving as a men’s soccer assistant coach at Colorado Colorado Springs from 2013-16. Prior to UCCS, Gallagher was the head coach at NJCAA Division I Ancilla College. He was head coach for two years with Indiana University men’s club team and spent two seasons as the men’s soccer assistant at UW-Oshkosh. He returned to the UW-Oshkosh program after serving as an assistant coach at Ripon College in 2005 and 2006.

    A 2006 UW-Oshkosh graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, kinesiology, coaching, and English, the defender helped the Titans to a 59-13-6 record and three NCAA Division III postseason appearances. The Mukwonago High School alumnus went on to earn a master’s degree in educational leadership & athletics/sport leadership and management from UW-Oshkosh in 2009.

    Anthony Clark was announced as the next Mount St. Joseph University men’s soccer coach in December 2023.

    Head Men's Soccer Coach - Mount St. Joseph University

    Coach Clark comes to the Mount after spending last season as an Assistant Coach at Detroit Mercy, where he was also the recruiting coordinator. During his time in Detroit he also organized and prepared the programs ID camps, organized and executed the teams travel needs and coached a pair of all-conference players.

    Prior to his time at Detroit Mercy, Anthony was an Assistant Coach at his Alma Mater Ohio Northern University. He was also the recruiting coordinator for the Ohio Northern program, helped with the fundraising events, organized ID camps, served as the teams offensive coach (coaching the forwards and attacking midfielders), coaching numerous All-OAC, All-Ohio, All-Region and All-America level players.

    Outside of his college coaching experience, he has worked many Exact and CCSC Camps, been a head coach in the Cincinnati SC club and been an assistant coach at West Clermont High School here in the Greater Cincinnati area.

    “We are excited to announce Coach Clark as our new head men’s soccer coach” said MSJ Director of Athletics Melanee Wagener. “We are confident that coach Clark will provide a new energy into that program and continue to help us build on our Championship Culture here at the Mount.”

CAMP DETAILS:

This program is geared towards players of all abilities. Campers will work on mastering the proper fundamentals, techniques and advancing their overall skills and knowledge of the game. A great opportunity for players to learn through a mix of drills, games, and competitive play. With a number of different camp options for all to enjoy!

GOALKEEPER EXPERIENCE CAMP

The Nike Goalkeeper Experience for camp is run by Darren Gallagher who has earned an NSCAA GK II License and USSF B License. Past experiences working NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and with GK1 Academy over the past 20 years.

The curriculum will have a wide range (beginner to elite youth) and players will be grouped by age/ability level to get the most work accomplished. Morning sessions focus on the technical (handling, aerial, shot stopping, distribution with hands/feet, and footwork). During the afternoon sessions, goalkeepers will join in small-sided games to big goals (4v4-8v8) and large-sided phase play that develops opportunities for tactical instruction and learning moments to apply technique and decision-making in-game environments.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.

SOCCER BALLS

Nike Soccer Camp Balls can be purchased during registration. Players can choose between a size 3, 4 or 5 ball, which will be shipped out once the order has processed. Shipping is included in the listed price. Please note that it is not required to bring a soccer ball to camp as they are provided by the staff for camp instruction. All sales are final.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
