Nike Soccer Camp at Carroll University offers an outstanding week of soccer for boys and girls ages 6–16, led by Head Men’s Soccer Coach Andrew Kohel and Head Women’s Soccer Coach Tom Torres! This camp is designed to bring out the very best in every player through a fun, challenging, and supportive environment.

Throughout the week, campers will experience innovative drills, small-sided games, and team-driven competition that focus on improving skills, building confidence, and developing a true passion for the game. We encourage players to play hard, be creative, ask questions, and have fun every step of the way.

By the end of camp, athletes will leave with a higher soccer IQ, enhanced technical ability, new friends and mentors, and unforgettable memories. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your game to the next level, this camp offers the perfect mix of learning and excitement

    Andy Kohel

    Camp Director

    Andy Kohel brings proven success and elite coaching experience to Carroll University’s men’s soccer program. A USSF ‘B’ License holder, Kohel has a strong track record of developing players and building competitive teams at the NCAA Division III level. In his first season leading the Pioneers, Kohel guided the team to one of its best finishes in a decade—recording nine wins, the most in 10 years, and earning a CCIW Tournament berth as the No. 3 seed, which included hosting a quarterfinal match. Under his leadership, two players earned All-Region honors, four were named All-Conference, and four received CSC Academic All-District recognition.

    Camp Director

    Kohel’s coaching journey spans five years as a head coach at the NCAA Division III level, including roles at Concordia-Moorhead and Johnson & Wales, where he helped transition the program from NAIA to NCAA competition. He also served as head coach for St. Croix Legends (USL League Two) and has extensive experience in youth development through Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association and Colorado Rush Soccer Club as part of the U.S. Development Academy.

    Before his head coaching roles, Kohel spent eight years as an assistant at Colorado College and his alma mater, UW-Oshkosh, helping teams compile an impressive 89-28-20 record and mentoring six All-Americans and five Scholar All-Americans.

    As a former standout player at UW-Oshkosh, Kohel was part of the 2011 NCAA Division III Final Four team, finishing his collegiate career with a 52-16-11 record. His experience as both a player and coach gives him a unique perspective on developing athletes to reach their full potential.

    Kohel is passionate about creating a competitive, supportive environment where players can grow technically, tactically, and mentally while fostering a lifelong love for the game.

    Tom Torres

    Camp Co-Director

    Tom Torres brings an impressive coaching pedigree and a deep passion for player development to Carroll University. Holding a USSF A License, UEFA B License, and advanced certifications including Elite Formation Coaching (French FF) and the USC Advanced National Diploma, Torres is committed to delivering world-class training and mentorship to every athlete he coaches.

    Tom Torres

    Camp Co-Director

    With over 30 years of coaching experience, Torres has worked at some of the highest levels of the game. His career includes ten years with D.C. United, four years with the Washington Spirit, three years with St. James FCV, and three years with USL W-League’s Nova FC. He currently coaches the FC Wisconsin Boys ECNL, continuing his dedication to developing elite youth talent.

    Before his coaching career, Torres was a standout collegiate player at Radford University, where he competed as both a midfielder and defender. His unique blend of professional experience, tactical knowledge, and player-first approach makes him an invaluable leader for Carroll’s women’s soccer program.

    Torres is passionate about helping young athletes grow on and off the field, focusing on technical mastery, creativity, and confidence-building. Under his guidance, players can expect a challenging, supportive environment that inspires excellence and a lifelong love for the game.

  • Half-Day Hours: 9:00am - 12:00pm*
  • Full-Day Hours: 9:00am - 3:00pm*

  • Check-in & Out Locations: at Haertel Field

  • Meals: Lunch is NOT provided. Please send campers with a packed lunch

  • Location: Haertel Field

*Check-in starts 15 minutes before camp start time

**The last day of camp is a half-day (12:00pm)

Nike Soccer Camps provide a fun and challenging environment where players are grouped by age and ability to maximize development. Guided by experienced coaches, campers sharpen their technical skills through focused training, dynamic drills, and small-sided games, building confidence and a lifelong passion for the game.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Training from the Carroll University coaching staff

  • Day campers: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch.

  • Supervision: Staff members are strategically placed throughout the camp to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities

  • Camp T-shirt: All campers receive a Nike Soccer Camps t-shirt

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

  • Ratio: Low camper to coach ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience

  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.

  • Facility: Haertel Field

  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
