The Nike Girls Soccer Camp at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD is a premier summer experience, selling out for the past three years, and offers young female athletes an unforgettable opportunity to train, compete, and immerse themselves in life on a collegiate campus. With both extended day and overnight options, players enjoy a true college‑style environment that elevates their development, independence, and confidence on and off the field.

Led by Camp Director Sandy Lagana Bly, a highly respected youth development leader, former Women’s Head Coach, and now McDaniel’s Associate Director of Athletics, this camp provides an empowering space where girls are inspired to grow as competitors and as young women. Supported by Women’s Head Coach Michael Scott, the coaching staff delivers top‑tier technical and tactical instruction rooted in deep local ties and collegiate expertise.

Designed for players of all levels, the camp blends elite training with a positive, uplifting atmosphere that encourages leadership, resilience, and belief in their abilities. Hosted on the beautiful McDaniel College campus, this girls‑only experience has become a true summer highlight, offering the perfect balance of high‑level coaching, competitive play, lasting friendships, and the inspiration young athletes need to chase their next level.

    Sandy Lagana Bly is one of the region’s most respected and accomplished leaders in women’s soccer, bringing unmatched experience, deep community roots, and a proven track record of player development to the Nike Girls Soccer Camp at McDaniel College.

    After an extraordinary 11-year tenure as McDaniel’s Head Women’s Soccer Coach, Sandy was promoted to Associate Athletic Director in 2024, where she also serves as the department’s Senior Woman Administrator and oversees NCAA compliance. As the winningest coach in program history, she guided the Green Terror to 144 victories, a .693 winning percentage, and an incredible nine postseason appearances, including five NCAA Tournament runs and multiple ECAC titles. Her leadership helped deliver the 2021 Centennial Conference championship, five Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors, five All-Americans, and numerous all-conference and all-region standouts.

    Sandy’s final season in 2023 was emblematic of her excellence, taking McDaniel to the NCAA Second Round and earning regional and conference Coaching Staff of the Year recognition. Prior to her time at McDaniel, she built successful programs at Ferrum and Mary Baldwin, amassing 183 career wins across 17 college coaching seasons. A Sykesville, MD native and former multi‑sport collegiate standout in both soccer and lacrosse at Bridgewater College, Sandy combines her elite coaching background with genuine local connection and passion for empowering young female athletes. With advanced academic training in athletic administration and coaching, Sandy brings not only experience but vision, creating a camp environment where girls are inspired, challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow into confident players and confident leaders.

    A proven leader in the female collegiate and youth game, Michael Scott enters his third season as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at McDaniel College in 2026, bringing a track record of excellence, player development, and competitive success.

    In his first season, Scott guided the Green Terror to the second round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship and a Centennial Conference semifinal appearance, finishing second in the regular season and producing six all‑conference selections. His staff earned Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors, marking an impressive start to his head‑coaching tenure.

    Scott’s early impact set new standards for the program, earning his first career win with a commanding 4–0 victory over Goucher and elevating McDaniel to a No. 13 national ranking in the United Soccer Coaches Top‑25 and No. 1 in Region V, the first top regional ranking in program history. His promotion to head coach in 2024 followed seven seasons as an assistant, during which the team won more than 70% of its matches (81‑29‑14), made five postseason appearances, advanced to three NCAA tournaments, and captured the 2021 Centennial Conference Championship alongside back‑to‑back ECAC titles in 2018 and 2019.

    Known for his tactical knowledge and ability to elevate female athletes, Scott helped produce multiple All‑Americans, all‑region selections, and key wins over national powers including No. 1 Messiah, No. 8 Johns Hopkins, and No. 17 Swarthmore. Beyond the college game, he expands his youth development impact through coaching with Baltimore Celtic Soccer Club, one of the region’s premier programs.

    A native of Fife, Scotland, Scott was an elite player himself, a four‑year starter at UMBC, where he won three America East Championships, served as team captain, earned All-America East Second Team honors, and helped lead the Retrievers to the 2014 NCAA College Cup semifinals. His playing career continued with Christos FC, where he won a national championship in 2016. Academically, Scott holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, is completing a Master of Education in Physical Education and Coaching, and maintains an extensive coaching portfolio, including U.S. Soccer D, F, Grassroots, 7v7, and 11v11 licenses, as well as Scottish FA Level 1 and 2 badges.

    Bringing international insight, collegiate success, and a deep commitment to developing young women on and off the field, Scott provides a championship‑caliber coaching presence that inspires athletes to reach new heights.

Please Note: Last year, camp sessions SOLD OUT at this location. You can expect high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

  • Date: July 16-19, 2026 (Thursday-Sunday)

  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual, If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!

    • First day runs from 3:00-8:00 PM
    • Day 2-3 run from 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience

SUPERVISION

The staff live in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco are strictly prohibited and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.

TEAM DISCOUNT

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
