    Head Women's Soccer Coach - Ohio Wesleyan University

    Pat Ferguson is a highly respected, player‑focused coach who brings exceptional experience and a strong commitment to developing confident, well‑rounded athletes. As the head women’s soccer coach at Ohio Wesleyan University, Pat leads a competitive collegiate program built on teamwork, positive culture, and individual growth. At Nike Soccer Camps, these same values come through as he creates an uplifting, structured environment where players learn new skills, build confidence, and truly enjoy the game.

    Head Women's Soccer Coach - Ohio Wesleyan University

    With a long history of success as a Division I head coach at Wright State and Campbell University, Pat has earned multiple Coach of the Year honors and guided teams to conference championships, postseason runs, and national‑level recognition. His programs have been known for both athletic excellence and academic achievement.

    Pat also brings extensive youth‑development expertise through his longtime leadership with Ohio Soccer Galaxies, where he has helped shape top young players and earned state and regional coaching awards. He holds a U.S. Soccer “B” License and a Premier Diploma from United Soccer Coaches, demonstrating his commitment to safe, high‑quality training.

    A former collegiate standout himself, Pat blends top‑tier soccer knowledge with an encouraging, athlete‑first mindset—making him a trusted and inspiring coach for families looking for a meaningful camp experience.

    Jim Wendling

    Assistant Women's Soccer Coach - Ohio Wesleyan University

    Jim Wendling is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Ohio Wesleyan University women's soccer team. Wendling came to Ohio Wesleyan after serving as athletics director at the Lake campus of Wright State University.

    Assistant Women's Soccer Coach - Ohio Wesleyan University

    He has a wealth of coaching experience at the collegiate and professional levels. Most recently, he was with the Dayton Dutch Lions of the Women's Professional Soccer League, serving as head coach in 2019 and associate head coach in 2017.

    Prior to coaching in the professional ranks, he was director of soccer operations and assistant women's coach at Wright State University, helping the Raiders advance to the Horizon League tournament final in 2015 and the tournament quarterfinal in 2016.

    Wending was head coach at Canisius College from 2008-14. In his first season at the helm of the Golden Griffins, he guided a team that had not had a winning season in 14 years to an 11-5-3 record, winning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors. His teams received regional top-10 rankings in each of his first 3 seasons, with the 2010 team winning the MAAC regular-season championship.

    From 1998-2008, Wendling was head coach at Urbana University, founding both the men's and women's soccer teams. He posted 83 wins in both men's and women's soccer, recording 5 seasons of double-digit victories during his 9 years as men's coach and 5 seasons of double-digit wins during his 8 seasons as women's coach. He also was head women's coach at Wittenberg University in 1995-96, guiding the Tigers to a 15-3 record and a No. 7 national ranking in 1995. Wendling began his coaching career as boys head coach at Miami Valley High School in 1990.

    He holds a USSF "D" license.

    Wendling is a 1983 graduate of the University of Dayton, majoring in physical education. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years before beginning his coaching career.

    He is a native of Waynesville, Ohio.

    Ashley Ellithorp-Segner

    Associate Director - Camps

    Ashley Ellithorp‑Segner brings a versatile coaching background and a passion for athlete development to Nike Soccer Camps. She currently serves as an assistant women’s soccer coach at Ohio Wesleyan University, where she works closely with collegiate athletes on technical growth, competitive mindset, and team culture.

    Ashley Ellithorp-Segner

    Associate Director - Camps

    Before joining Ohio Wesleyan, Ashley coached across multiple levels of the game, including elite regional teams with Club Ohio Soccer in Dublin. She has also led high school programs at Fairbanks High School and worked extensively with youth players through Union County Elite FC and Locker Soccer Academy. Her experience gives her a deep understanding of how to connect with players at every stage of their soccer journey.

    Ashley holds a USSF “D” License, a Pre‑National Diploma, and a Level 1 Goalkeeping Diploma from United Soccer Coaches—reflecting her commitment to high‑quality instruction and continued professional development.

    A standout student‑athlete herself, Ashley graduated summa cum laude from Franklin University with a degree in marketing, after beginning her collegiate career as an NCAA Division I track and field athlete at Wright State University. She later earned a master’s degree in legal studies from the University of Arizona.

    At Nike Soccer Camps, Ashley strives to create an energetic, supportive environment where players build confidence, improve their skills, and develop a love for the game.

ID CAMP SCHEDULE

  • 3:00-4:00pm: Optional Campus Tour with student-athletes
  • 4:00-4:15pm: ID Camp Registration and Staff Introductions
  • 4:15-4:30 pm = Session 1: Warm up, jog, stretch (FIFA 11)
  • 4:30-5:00 pm = Session 2: Technical Training Led by Head Coach Pat Ferguson
  • 5:00-6:40 pm = Session 4: 11 v 11 Games. (3 x 30-minute games)
  • 6:45-7:00 pm = Session 5: Recruiting Q&A Period with Coach Ferguson

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Training from the Ohio Wesleyan coaching staff

  • Supervision: Staff members are strategically placed throughout the camp to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

  • Ratio: Low camper-to-coach ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience

  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring indoor athletic shoes, shin guards, soccer cleats (no metal studs), and a water bottle.

  • Facility: Jay Martin Soccer Complex

  • Medical Protocol: Camps will have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
