    Camp Director

A true icon in American soccer, Laura Schott has excelled at every level of the game. A former U.S. Women’s National Team player, professional National Champion, and an All‑American in both high school and college, Laura’s playing résumé is unmatched. She remains Cal’s all‑time leading scorer and was a four‑year Pac‑12 All‑Conference selection. Laura Schott

    Camp Director

Deeply connected to Northwest soccer, Laura has spent more than 20 years building and elevating programs near her hometown. As Head Coach at Portland State, she transformed the program into a perennial contender with national recognition. Under her leadership, the Vikings won four conference championships and set the conference’s all‑time unbeaten streak record.

Laura later shifted her focus toward youth development, directing FC Portland and the Thorns Development Academy—two of the region’s premier development environments. Most recently, she guided the George Fox University women’s program to the strongest conference finishes in its NCAA Division III history. For Laura, creating pathways, unlocking potential, and helping athletes achieve what they once thought impossible is the heart of her coaching philosophy.

Her expertise extends beyond the field as well. Laura is the only person to serve as lead analyst for both the Portland Thorns and Seattle Reign of the NWSL, and she co‑hosts a weekly podcast analyzing the ever‑evolving soccer landscape. Away from soccer, she enjoys time with family, real estate investing, and mentoring young athletes as they navigate their own journeys. She is also a licensed real estate advisor in both Oregon and Washington.

Laura brings an inspiring mix of competitive excellence, developmental expertise, and genuine care for young players—making her an invaluable presence at our camp.

A great opportunity for players to learn through a mix of drills, games, and competitive play. With a number of different camp options for all to enjoy!

ABOUT FORMATION LLC

Laura Schott founded Formation LLC to create an option for kids to learn & enjoy soccer. "I developed Formation after identifying a gap in the market that can uniquely be filled by people that have played at the high levels and coaches that have coached at the high levels. The collegiate, national, and international levels are the ones that inspire the young players, so it only makes sense that they should have access to mentors, players, and coaches that know first hand what those levels are actually like."

Formation offers a unique opportunity in youth soccer, focusing on fundamentals and segmenting camp to meet kids where they are. Laura Schott has developed a specific curriculum focused on fundamentals and breaking down the how, when, where, why's of skills and how those skills relate to the real in-game experience.

"We focus on not just fundamentals, body awareness, and body control, but also discuss mentality. Application of these skills to the game in real time is a necessity for success that unfortunately many platforms miss."

Having successfully applied these skills at the highest levels of sport, Formation's founder offers a special opportunity for beginning players and highly motivated players alike to advance their game while having fun.

GENERAL SKILLS

Perfect for young athletes in the earlier stages of their soccer journey! This camp focuses on building foundational skills in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment. Through games and age-appropriate drills, campers will develop their confidence, teamwork, and love for the game—all while having a blast!

ADVANCED SKILLS

This camp is designed for athletes ready to take their game to the next level. It's perfect for players who are serious about honing their skills and thriving in a focused learning environment. Sessions will involve concentrated drills and advanced techniques, with activities lasting up to 20 minutes.

We want every player to have a positive and productive experience. If a camper finds the pace or focus level of the Advanced Skills Camp challenging, no problem! We’ll happily transfer them to our General Skills Camp, where they can continue building their skills in a fun, supportive setting.

*NOTE: If you believe your camper should be in a different skill level than the age requirement listed, please add a note at check-out and mention it to the camp director on day 1.
