at Nike Softball Camps

Head Coach Bill Baber will direct a Nike Softball Camps at Whitworth University this summer! Campers will play at Diana Marks Softball Field in Spokane, Washington. Fantastic facilities and an amazing coaching staff highlight an exciting week of camp for campers ages 8-16.

    Bill Baber

    Camp Director

    Bill Baber brings to Whitworth University, 27 years of collegiate coaching experience across the NAIA, NCAA Division II, and NCAA Division I levels, establishing a reputation as a championship‑caliber leader and program builder. Over his career, he has accumulated 473 wins, 13 conference championships, an NAIA National Championship, and an NCCAA National Championship, while mentoring numerous All-Americans and Academic All-Americans.

    Camp Director

    During his 10 seasons as Head Coach at California Baptist University. Baber compiled a 333–161–1 record and guided the program to national prominence. Under his direction, CBU earned five consecutive NCAA Division II postseason appearances, three PacWest championships, and a remarkable 49–6 season culminating in an NCCAA National Championship.

    With the transition to NCAA Division I, he led the program to immediate competitiveness, securing historic victories over Power Five opponents including Ole Miss and Michigan State. These wins underscored his ability to recruit, develop, and prepare student‑athletes to compete at the highest level.

    Across every stop in his career, Baber has remained committed to building championship cultures, fostering academic and athletic excellence, and preparing student‑athletes for success on and off the field.

  • Myranda Semlacher

    Coach

    Myranda Semlacher joins Whitworth University for her first season as an assistant coach, returning to her alma mater after gaining coaching experience and continuing her passion for softball. A 2017 Whitworth graduate, Myranda earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science before completing the dual Nursing Degree Program with Whitworth University and Washington State University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2019. She went on to work as a pediatric and neonatal ICU nurse prior to returning to Spokane.

    Myranda Semlacher

    Coach

    As a student-athlete at Whitworth, Myranda was a standout performer, helping lead the Pirates to two conference championships. She was named the 2015 Northwest Conference Player of the Year, earned three All-NWC selections, two All-Region honors, and was a two-time recipient of the Whitworth Softball Hot Bat award. She also appeared in two All-Region tournaments and was a member of the 2017 NWC Tournament Championship team.

    Myranda is excited to return to Whitworth and looks forward to bringing her experience, leadership, and passion for the game to the Pirate softball program.

  • Alyssa Benthagen

    Coach

    Alyssa Benthagen joined the Whitworth University softball coaching staff in 2024 as an Assistant Coach, where she oversees catcher development. A standout student-athlete at Central Washington University, Benthagen was a two-time All-GNAC selection and one of the top offensive performers in the conference. As a senior in 2023, she led the Wildcats in home runs, RBIs, batting average, and slugging percentage, while starting every game of the season. She was the only CWU player to do so that year.

    Alyssa Benthagen

    Coach

    Across her collegiate career, Benthagen totaled 22 home runs and 101 RBIs, bringing firsthand high-level playing experience, leadership, and positional expertise to Whitworth's coaching staff and to the athletes she works with on the field.

Camp Details

Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, fielding, base-running, and game situations. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

CAMP INFORMATION

  • Dates: July 13-16, 2026
  • Age Group: 7-19
  • Camp Type: Half-Day Camp (Ages 7-9); Day Camp (Ages 9-18)
  • Schedule: Monday - Thursday | Half-Day 9am-12pm; Day 9am-4pm
  • Check-In: Begins 30 minutes prior to the camp start time.
  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a snack/lunch to camp each day.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Daily Softball Instruction
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours
  • Nike Softball Camp T-Shirt and other items

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion

  • Facility: Outdoor Fields. Indoor facilities are available during inclement weather conditions.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Softball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.

Diana Marks Softball Field

The Diana Marks Softball Field offers the highest quality in athletic fields. Opened for softball in the spring of 2000, the complex includes a complete softball field with in-ground dugouts, batting cages, and bleachers. The facility has its own state-of-the art scoreboard and a shared press-box with the Whitworth Soccer Field for filming/viewing above and concessions stand below. The facility includes a team changing room and spectator restrooms conveniently located adjacent to the bleachers.
