Nike Softball Camps
Head Coach Bob Castle will direct a Nike Softball Camps at Whitworth University this summer! Campers will play at Diana Marks Softball Field in Spokane, Washington. Fantastic facilities and an amazing coaching staff highlight an exciting week of camp for campers ages 8-16.

Assistant Coach Gracee Dwyer
Grace Dwyer graduated from Central Washington University after earning a softball scholarship. While she was at CWU, the Wildcats made many appearances in conference championships and regional play. Dwyer earned Scholar Athlete awards from the GNAC conference each season. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and School Health and Movement Studies, and Secondary Education, while also obtaining an endorsement in Math.

Head Coach Bob Castle
Bob Castle took over as Whitworth's softball head coach in the fall of 2019 and is now entering his fourth season guiding the Pirates. Castle guided the Pirates to their first winning record of his tenure in 2022, leading the Bucs to a 25-17 overall mark and a 15-13 Northwest Conference record. Six Pirates earned All-NWC honors, including first team honoree Heather Menzer.

Coach Shannon Wessel
Shannon Wessel played for Whitworth from 2014-2017. Wessel was a sophomore starter on Whitworth’s first ever conference championship in 2015 and she led her team to two subsequent championships and regional appearances in 2016 and 2017.

Camp Details
Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, fielding, base-running, and game situations. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

- Age Group: 8-16
- Camp Type: Day Camp
- Schedule: Monday - Thursday | 9:00am-4:00pm
- Check-In: Begins 30 minutes prior to the camp start time.
- Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a snack/lunch to camp each day.

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY
Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion
Facility: Outdoor Fields. Indoor facilities are available during inclement weather conditions.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
TRAVEL
Nike Softball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.
TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT
If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.

The Diana Marks Softball Field offers the highest quality in athletic fields. Opened for softball in the spring of 2000, the complex includes a complete softball field with in-ground dugouts, batting cages, and bleachers. The facility has its own state-of-the art scoreboard and a shared press-box with the Whitworth Soccer Field for filming/viewing above and concessions stand below. The facility includes a team changing room and spectator restrooms conveniently located adjacent to the bleachers.
