    Kelsey Richardson

    Head Softball Instructor & Camp Director

    Coach Richardson played collegiately at Herkimer (HCCC) before transferring to DII Post University. During her time with the Generals, they had 2 NJCAA World Series appearances placing 3rd and 7th place earning MVC Champions both years along the way. Richardson left Herkimer as a two-time captain and catcher with 2024 1st team Mountain Valley All-Conference, 1st team All-Region, Herkimer defensive player of the year, and World Series All-Tournament Team to decorate her name. Prior to college, Richardson left Greenfield High with their first State Championship her senior year of 2022 and 2 Western Mass Championships (2018, 2022) as a 3-time captain. Also dabbling in other sports, earning Greenfield Volleyball player of the year in 2022.

    Veteran camp instructor at Amherst College [Nike Softball]. Third year as Head Coach of Valley Storm Hurricanes (16U). Richardson received her Associates degree in Sports and Recreation Management from Herkimer County Community College in May 2024.

    Coach

    Coach Gianna competed in the circle for four years at Westfield State University. During her time there, WSU won the MASCAC Regular Season Championship title in 2024 and 2025, and had also 3 appearances in the MASCAC Championship. She also earned recognition as a MASCAC Pitcher of the Week.

    Coach

    Before college, Gianna was a starting pitcher for Greenfield High School. She contributed to Greenfield’s Western Mass Championship win in 2018, and was selected to the All-Western Massachusetts First Team for her senior year performance in 2021.

  • Guillermo Hernandez

    Coach

    Coach G was a stand-out athlete for the Plainville Blue Devils competing in football and track before graduating in 2021. Hernandez has vast experience coaching youth football, baseball, and track from Connecticut to Indiana before stepping into the softball scene. Bringing in intensity and emphasis on footwork & agility, he has joined the coaching staff of the Valley Storm Hurricanes with coaches Kelsey and Gianna.

Camp Details

SECURE YOUR SPOT!

Instruction will focus primarily on fielding fundamentals, hitting, base running, and competitive spirit. In addition, pitchers and catchers will have the opportunity to work with pitching and catching coaches. You can expect high demand on these first-come-first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

Please note: The following camp information may be subject to change- camp dates, times, coaches, location, and housing.

CAMP INFORMATION

  • Dates: August 3-6, 2026
  • Age Group: 9-18
  • Gender: Girls
  • Camp Types: Day Camp. Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm
  • Check-In: Begins 30 minutes prior to the camp start time.
  • Meals: Lunch is provided. Packing additional snacks is recommended.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Daily Softball Instruction
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours
  • Nike Softball Camp T-Shirt and other items

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion.

  • Facility: Outdoor Fields. Indoor facilities are available during inclement weather conditions.

  • Drop off and pick up will be at the entrance of Emerson Hall. Drop off runs 8:30-9 with a 5pm pick up daily. On Thursday, families are invited to watch their athletes compete head to head (3-5pm) followed by an award ceremony to conclude the camp week!

    When entering SBS campus, follow the long path down and keep right all the way to Emerson Hall & Geissler Gallery parking lot. The field is located to the left of Emerson Hall past the small Bonnie’s House building. All of campus will be marked with Nike Softball signs to follow.

    Camp will run rain or shine! In the case of inclement weather, camp will take place in the gymnasium of Emerson Hall. Lunch will be provided daily but packing additional snacks is strongly encouraged. Softball pants are preferred for attire!

    Campers will also have the opportunity to swim daily Monday - Wednesday. Bathing suits and towels are not provided.

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. Please note that US Sports Camps does NOT provide equipment and is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

  • Small gym bag/backpack

  • Athletic clothing: t-shirt, shorts, softball pants (recommended)

  • Warm-up jacket

  • Hat/Visor

  • Sunglasses

  • Cleats & sneakers (for possible indoor sessions)

  • Softball glove

  • Softball bat

  • Helmet

  • Catchers gear (if applicable)

  • Sunscreen

  • Water bottle

  • Rain gear

  • Change of athletic clothes (Learning to slide involves soap & water)

  • Bathing suit and towel

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Softball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.

  • Nike Softball Camp at Stoneleigh-Burnham School takes place at Stoneleigh-Burnham School, a boarding school campus located at - 574 Bernardston Road, Greenfield, Massachusetts 01301. Led by camp director Kelsey Richardson and 2 additional coaches. Popular with families from Bernardston, Brooklyn, NY, Colrain, Hadley, and other nearby towns.

  • Sessions are $579 for a 4-day camp. A deposit secures your spot, with the balance due before camp starts.
