Register for our new Nike Swim Camp at UCSB in Summer 2025 and enjoy elite-level training on a beautiful, oceanfront campus. Structured for swimmers with competitive swim experience, the camp offers a unique opportunity to train under the direction of college coaches and current and former collegiate athletes who serve as counselors. The camp is open to swimmers ages 10-17.
Overnight Camp: Our overnight camp at UCSB offers an immersive, on-campus experience where swimmers reside in the Manzanita Village dormitories (just steps from the beach) in adjacent rooms to the camp staff. The tuition includes all swim training, housing, meals, fun evening activities, as well as college recruiting and sports psychology seminars in the evenings (parents are encouraged to attend the seminars!).
Day Camp (9:00am – 4:00pm): Nike Swim Camps also offer a summer day camp program for local swimmers. This program runs 9:00am-4:00pm (schedule varies by day) and includes daytime training only. Campers must bring their own lunch or purchase on campus.
The Nike Swim Camp at UCSB is open to any and all entrants and limited only by number, age and gender. The Nike Swim Camp at UCSB is not owned, sponsored, co-sponsored or controlled by the University.

Westy McQueen is the owner and camp director for Next Athletes, operator of Nike Sports Camps. Westy has over 10 years of experience operating youth programs and has designed the Next Athletes programs with the purpose of providing a truly memorable, athletic development experience for each child.

Head Swimming & Diving Coach, Biola University Nate Harding
Nate Harding took over the reigns of the Biola men's and women's swimming and diving programs in the summer of August 2021. The 2024-25 school year will be his fourth year as the Eagles' head coach. Throughout Harding's career as the Biola swimming and diving head coach, he has coached five CSCAA Scholar All-Americans, 10 CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams, 15 PCSC Athlete's of the Week, and three NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships qualifiers. The teams have also broken a total of 22 school records since he took over the program in 2021. Harding earned his own hardware in 2023 and 2024 with back-to-back PCSC Men's Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year awards.

Jeff Natalizio is the assistant swimming & diving coach at Whittier College. Coach Natalizio swam collegiately at University of California, Berkeley where he earned All-American status in addition to multiple Top-10 program rankings.

Camp Details

You can expect a high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early. This summer, Santa Cruz is offering one session of overnight with a day camp option (9:00am-4:00pm) for ages 10-18. Instruction will take place each day at the UC Santa Barbara pool.
2025 OVERVIEW
- Dates: July 7-10
- Age Group: 10-17
- Gender: Coed
- Camp Type: Overnight & Day (commuter)
- Check-in: Overnight Campers - check-in takes place between 7:30-8:30am on Monday at TBA. There will be a camp orientation meeting, and parents are welcome to join their campers for this meeting. A detailed schedule for the week will be provided at that time. Day Campers - check-in takes place between 8:00-8:30am on Monday at TBA (early arrival is discouraged and is meant for overnight campers).
- Check-out: There will be a closing ceremony between 3:00pm at the pool on Thursday. Camp concludes immediately following the closing ceremony. Overnight Campers check-out of the dorms and Day Campers are picked up at the pool.
- Day Schedule: MON-THURS 9AM-4PM **Times subject to change
- Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Dinner is provided on Thursday; and lunch is provided on Friday and Saturday for all Day (commuter) campers.
- Program: The Stroke Technique program is designed to provide competitive swimmers with a better understanding of swimming fundamentals. Stroke refinement along with constructive feedback will be the focus of the camp and allows each participant to gain a greater knowledge of proper stroke mechanics and ways to improve themselves individually.

2025 HOUSING
- Dorm: TBA Residence Hall
- Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
- Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
- Bathrooms: Shared
- Linens: Not included. Bring linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
- Air Conditioning: No - dorms do not have A/C
SUPERVISION
The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
- Instruction: Morning, afternoon, and evening training sessions
- Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.
- Day campers: Dinner provided on Thursday; Lunch is provided Friday and Saturday.
- Supervision: Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.

- Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
- Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience per the director's discretion.

- Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

DAY CAMPERS
Checklist of Things to Bring: We recommend that all Day Campers bring a daily pack with the following items: swimsuit, swim cap, goggles, towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, sandals, water bottle, dry land gear (running shoes, t-shirt, athletic shorts, sweatshirt) and any other appropriate clothing for that day’s activities which will be described to you on the first day of camp.
Camp Schedule & Meals:
- Monday-Thursday: Day Campers should arrive dressed and ready to swim. You will be assigned a counselor and given a complete schedule of all events during the week. Day Camper Hours – 9:00am-4:00pm. Lunch is provided.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from camp. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Camp Questions & Answers
How are swimmers grouped at camp?
Upon arrival at camp at Wingate, campers are placed in groups with other swimmers having similar abilities and goals. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate your needs, keeping in consideration your experience and desire to improve.
