Elite Hoops and Nike Basketball Camps presents the Switch Cone Slides & 2 Ball Power Dribble Drills

Elite Hoops performs this as one of their "Living by Numbers" drills. Players have 0:30 to record as many rotations as possible. Each cone moved counts as 1. Cameron collected 15 cones in 0:30 and set a new Elite Hoops Division record.

Place 4 cones on the outside of either lane line starting at the FT line and working down the lane.  Cones should be next to each other with little or no space between them.  Start position for the player is down in an athletic stance with their hand right above the first cone, but not touching it. When the clock starts, player can pick up one cone, slide over to the opposite lane line, and set the cone down outside the lane. The players’ feet may not cross during the drill, they must slide correctly. Players must also set the cone down and not throw the cone. Either of these infractions will result in a loss of that cone rep being counted. Once they place all 4 cones outside one lane line, they should return the cones to the opposite side one at a time.  When a player sets down the 4th cone, they must pick up a NEW cone coming back for their 5th rep.  Same rule applies to setting down the 8th and picking up the 9th.

2 Ball Power Dribble

Elite Hoops performs this as one of their "Living by Numbers" drills. Players have 0:30 to record as many simultaneous dribbles as possible. Each simultaneous dribble counts as 1. Zoe collected 146 power dribbles in 0:30 and set a new Girls Elite Hoops Division record.

“Both of the moves covered above were recently featured on KATVnews. Special thanks to Chris Kane, Alyson Courtney, Melinda Mayo and the rest of the crew for helping us promote the Nike Basketball Camps in Little Rock!

About Nike Basketball Camp Director, Micah Marsh

Micah Marsh joined Elite Hoops in the summer of 2012 to help co-direct the first NIKE camp in Little Rock, Arkansas. The camp was a huge success, selling out for the first year. In the past two seasons as head coach at Episcopal Collegiate, Marsh led his team to victory with back-to-back state championships (record of 29-3 in ‘14 and 26-5 in ’15). The previous nine years, Marsh was the Head Coach at Alcoa High School in east Tennessee.  While at Alcoa, Marsh took the tornadoes to one final four, two elite eights, and four sweet sixteens.  He was named the east TN Coach of the Year in 2004. Before high school coaching, Marsh was an assistant coach at Arkansas State University from 2000-2002.  Marsh played college ball at Arkansas State University from 1994-1998. As a four-year starter he finished his career as the all-time leading 3pt shooter and finished in the top ten in scoring, assists, steals, and free throw percentage.
