Tennis Tip: Three Tips for the Tennis Forehand

Nike Tennis Camps Gallery 9

Former ATP player and USPTR certified coach, Abrie du Plooy shares three great tips on positioning the forehand groundstroke:

1. Use your non-dominant hand to create space and balance
2. Keep your head still and focused on the contact point
3. Make sure to get your body square to the target by releasing your hips and shoulders

For more great tips and instruction from Coach Abrie du Plooy, check out the Nike Tennis Camps at Southeastern Louisiana University this summer. This junior tennis camp is directed by former ATP Tour player Abrie du Plooy along with former top 20 ATP player, Davis Cup member, and All-American Chris Haggard. The Nike Tennis Camp at Southeastern Louisiana University will host one week of Overnight and Day camp for players of all ability levels (ages 9-18). The camp will also cater to top junior level players through the High Performance program.  The camp provides first-rate instruction, match play, diversified social activities, exposure to life in a university setting – and the chance to build lasting friendships. Our goal is to give players the opportunity to hit thousands of balls, improve their technique, and be challenged by some of the best players in their peer group.

Come join the fun and get better this summer!
