Join us this winter at the Nike Track & Field Camp with The St. James Academy, where athletes of all abilities come together to elevate their performance through top-tier coaching and an energizing training atmosphere. Our knowledgeable staff offers hands-on instruction in a wide range of events, helping campers refine their skills, boost their confidence, and strengthen their overall understanding of track and field.

Whether your goal is to master the basics or push your competitive limits, this clinic provides a motivating and supportive environment designed to help you grow as an athlete—both on the track and beyond. Please note, this camp takes place at the GMU Field House.

    Maurice Hutton is the Director of Track & Field at The St. James Performance Academy and also founded MVP Track and Field in 2013, establishing it as a top club in the DC metro area.

    Director of Track & Field, The St. James Performance Academy

    Hutton founded MVP Track and Field in 2013, establishing it as a top club in the DC metro area. As head coach at South County High School (Lorton, VA), he led his teams to VHSL State Championships in 2022 and 2023, with runner-up finishes in 2021 and 2024. His athletes have won 12 VHSL individual state titles and 31 individual state championships. Nationally, his coaching has produced 12 USATF National Champions, 13 NSAF Nike National Titles, and 63 NSAF Nike All-Americans.

    His highlights at a glance include:

    • 2x Class 6 State Team Championships, 2x Class 6 Runner Up
    • Coached and produced 12 USATF National Champions, 13 NSAF Nike National Titles, 63 NSAF Nike All-Americans

  • Apparel: All campers should arrive at check-in dressed in their athletic apparel and ready to train.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
  • Instruction: Morning training session(s)
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.

We offer the following sibling discounts for our running camps:

  • $15 off for weekend clinics

  • $20 off for day camp sessions

  • $25 off for overnight sessions

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your water and running shoes
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

If there are any imperative changes prior to camp start, registered campers will be notified via email and this webpage will be updated!

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

BEHAVIOR POLICIES

We may ask campers who require 1×1 supervision, disrupt the camp experience, or threaten the safety of themselves or others to leave camp. Behaviors meriting expulsion include, but are not limited to: a cause or threat of violence, putting themselves or others in danger, possession of a weapon, possession or use of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, drugs or illegal substance, robbery, damage to property, sexual misconduct or assault, harassment, hazing, racist remarks or acts, or intimidation. In those cases, we will contact a parent to pick up the child immediately. We do not issue refunds to campers who are asked to leave camp.

CANCELLATION DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event a camp day is cancelled or camp hours are adjusted due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to provide make-up time. If make-up time is not possible, no refund will be issued for the first cancelled day or any shortened hours. If additional full days are cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, a pro-rated camp credit voucher will be issued for each cancelled day beyond the first.
