Join Jessica Young (Coach J) and her staff at the Nike Track & Field Camp at Tad Gormley Stadium!

Join us this summer in NOLA for an action-packed week of training, competition, and fun! Designed for athletes of all ability levels, this camp focuses on skill development and technique in sprints, mid-distance, long jump, and relays.

Campers will train in a positive, high-energy environment while receiving instruction from experienced coaches dedicated to helping each athlete improve. Whether you're looking to build speed, increase endurance, or sharpen your jumping technique, this camp offers an unforgettable experience on a premier college campus.

    Jessica Young

    Coach / Camp Director

    Jessica Young is a former professional sprinter, Team USA representative, and one of the most accomplished athletes to come through Texas Christian University’s track and field program. A multi-time NCAA All-American at TCU, Young finished as an NCAA runner-up in both the 100-meter dash and the 60-meter dash and set school records in the 60m, 100m, and 400m—marks that solidified her place among the top sprinters in program history.

    Following her collegiate career, Young competed professionally on the international stage, representing Team USA. She was a member of the U.S. World Championship team that competed in Berlin in 2009 and raced internationally as part of the World’s relay team in the Bahamas. Her achievements also include finishing as a runner-up at the U.S. National Championships in the 60-meter dash and reaching the semifinals of the 200-meter dash at the Olympic Trials. Earlier in her career, she captured a gold medal at the World U20 Championship as a member of the winning 4x400-meter relay team.

    In addition to her elite competitive career, Young is the Founder and Head Coach of North Shore Track Club, one of Louisiana’s premier youth track and field programs. Since founding the club in 2020, she has built it into one of the state’s top developmental programs, producing elite youth athletes and guiding multiple competitors to the AAU Junior Olympic Championships. Under her leadership, athletes from the North Shore have emerged as some of the region’s top performers, with several achieving national-level success.

    Coach J is known for her ability to develop athletes at every stage, from beginners discovering the sport to elite competitors pursuing national championships. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes sound sprint mechanics, technical development, confidence, and fostering a lifelong love for the sport.

    With experience as an elite athlete, international competitor, and successful youth coach, Young brings a unique perspective to Nike Track & Field Camps. She is passionate about helping the next generation of athletes develop the speed, discipline, and confidence needed to succeed both on the track and in life.

  • Dates: June 1-5, 2026 (Mon-Fri)
  • Age Group: 8-14

  • Schedule: 9:00am-3:00pm

  • Campers must bring a packed lunch - lunch is not provided.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10
  • Grouped by: age, ability, track & field experience
  • Equipment needed: Campers should bring at least one pair of broken in running shoes. Event shoes/spikes are optional. Please be sure to properly mark your equipment, so that it can be easily identified.
  • Facility: Tad Gormley Stadium

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

ALL CAMPERS:

  • Extra athletic clothing
  • A packed lunch
  • 1-2 pairs of broken in running shoes
  • Event spikes (optional)
  • Water bottle
  • Sunblock
  • Snack/Sport drink
  • Small gym bag/Backpack

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

BEHAVIOR POLICIES

We may ask campers who require 1×1 supervision, disrupt the camp experience, or threaten the safety of themselves or others to leave camp. Behaviors meriting expulsion include, but are not limited to: a cause or threat of violence, putting themselves or others in danger, possession of a weapon, possession or use of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, drugs or illegal substance, robbery, damage to property, sexual misconduct or assault, harassment, hazing, racist remarks or acts, or intimidation. In those cases, we will contact a parent to pick up the child immediately. We do not issue refunds to campers who are asked to leave camp.

Tad Gormley Stadium

Tad Gormley Stadium is a New Orleans landmark and the site of this year's Nike Track & Field Camp!

Built in 1935, Tad Gormley Stadium features a 400-meter polyurethane track, artificial-turf playing field, three locker rooms, press box with seating for 110, 40 press-suite seats, an electronic scoreboard and state-of-the-art sound system.

The stadium features plenty of space for track & field athletes to grow their skillset and make lifelong memories!

  • Yes, campers are supervised by the coaches and staff. All staff members complete criminal and sex offender background checks before working the camp

  • We welcome individual campers and teams.

  • Our Health & Release Form does not require a doctor’s signature. This form is required to be filled out accurately, signed by the parent (guardian), and submitted online before arrival on the first day of camp.
