Camp Overview

2026 DATES & PRICES ARE HERE!

The beautiful Carey Stadium at Ocean City High School offers the ideal setting for this Track and Field Camp for middle and high school athletes, hosted by Ocean City High School Coach Tim Cook.

Campers will have the opportunity to learn and develop across a number Track & Field events, including sprints, hurdles, middle distance and throws (shot put only). Each day includes training sessions and games for each event. Camp concludes with an official track meet, with prizes awarded to event winners!

    Director

    Tim Cook is in his 14th year at Ocean City High School, and his 7th year as Head Coach of the Ocean City Girls Cross Country and Track & Field Team. Coach Cook has coached multiple county champions, sectional champions, state champions, meet of champions winners, and multiple All-Americans, and also coached multiple county and sectional champions in cross country, along with team sectional title.

    Coach Cook has won New Jersey State Championships as both a coach (Glassboro'09) and athlete (Glassboro'05), and was an All-Conference High Jumper at Rider University (MAAC) and Rowan University (NJAC).

    As well as serving as a Health & Physical Education Teacher at Ocean City High School, Coach Cook is also the Director of the Ocean City Track Club, and is a USATF Level 2 Certified Coach.

    In his first four years at Ocean City High School, his athletes have committed to and competed for a number of D1 programs, including, St. Joe's University, Monmouth University, La Salle University, Virginia Tech, Cornell, and Boston University.

    Coach Cook has a BA in Health and Exercise Science (Rowan University), and a MA in Kinesiology (Fresno Pacific University).

    Staff Coach

    Mike Colombo is the head girls track coach at Mainland Regional High School. He has been coaching hurdles for 17 years. He has coached 3 shuttle hurdle teams that have qualified for New Balance Nationals, including one All-American team. He has a USATF level one certification and a USATF level two certification in jumps as well.

    Coach Stone is a former NCAA Division I athlete in the throws, specializing in Shot Put and Discus during his time at Rider University (’09). Coach Stone was a part of multiple Pennsylvania District Team Championships and a state runner-up team finish during his time at Cedar Crest High School. He is a Pennsylvania district and state medal holder in shot put and discus.

    For 7 years, Coach Stone has worked as the Assistant Director of the Career Development Center at Shippensburg University as well as the Senior Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission at Rider University. During that time, Coach Stone worked closely with the athletic departments to create specialized academic advising opportunities, scholarship resources for families as well as being responsible for reviewing all incoming athletic profiles for admission.

    Coach Stone completed his Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education & Social Studies at Rider University (‘09). He also earned his Master's of School Counseling and College Student Personnel from Shippensburg University (‘12) as well as a post-graduate certificate to be an Education Counseling Specialist (‘17).

    Coach Stone is currently a school counselor at Colts Neck High School.

You can expect a high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

Coach Cook has designed a camp program which focuses on track and field fundamentals including technical event specific drills, stretching, and speed and core strength exercises.

In addition to Coach Cook, the camp is facilitated by other athletes and coaches from the Ocean City track & field community.

The final day of camp will allow campers to enjoy a fun Track & Field Meet, allowing for some fun competition and building on what the campers have learned during the week!

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
  • Grouped by: age, ability and experience
  • Evaluation: by coaching staff
  • Equipment Needed: Campers should bring at least one pair of broken in running shoes. Event shoes/spikes are recommended but not required. Please be sure to properly mark your equipment, so that it can be easily identified.

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

ALL CAMPERS:

  • Extra Athletic clothing
  • 1-2 pairs of broken in running shoes/ event spikes
  • Non-running shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Sunblock
  • Packed lunch and snacks
  • Small gym bag/backpack

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

CAMP TUITION PAYMENTS

Full payment of camp fees must be completed by the first day of the month before camp. For example:

  • June Camps: final payment is due on May 1
  • July Camps: final payment is due on June 1
  • August Camps: final payment is due on July 1

Any camper with an unpaid balance 10 days before the start of their camp will forfeit all camp fees paid to date and be removed from the camp.

Your confirmation email shows your balance due and balance due date. Final payments can be made through the US Sports Camps Customer Portal or by phone at 1-800-645-3226.

BEHAVIOR POLICIES

We may ask campers who require 1×1 supervision, disrupt the camp experience, or threaten the safety of themselves or others to leave camp. Behaviors meriting expulsion include, but are not limited to: a cause or threat of violence, putting themselves or others in danger, possession of a weapon, possession or use of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, drugs or illegal substance, robbery, damage to property, sexual misconduct or assault, harassment, hazing, racist remarks or acts, or intimidation. In those cases, we will contact a parent to pick up the child immediately. We do not issue refunds to campers who are asked to leave camp.

CANCELLATION DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event a camp day is cancelled or camp hours are adjusted due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to provide make-up time. If make-up time is not possible, no refund will be issued for the first cancelled day or any shortened hours. If additional full days are cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, a pro-rated camp credit voucher will be issued for each cancelled day beyond the first.

Ocean City Field

Carey Stadium at Ocean City High School is located in Ocean City, NJ, at 5th St. and the Boardwalk. Entrances to Carey Stadium are on both 5th St and 6th St.

Driving Directions

FROM NORTH -Take the Atlantic City Expressway East. Take exit 7S for Garden State Parkway South. Take Garden State Parkway South to exit 30 for Somers Point/Ocean City. After toll booth keep straight through 2 major traffic lights over the 9th Street Bridge (Route 52 Causeway) into Ocean City. At the bottom of bridge make a left onto Bay Ave. Take Bay Ave to 6th St, make a right at 6th Street. Go down 6th Street until Atlantic Ave.

FROM SOUTH - Take the Garden State Parkway to exit 25 for Ocean City/Marmora. Make a right at the end of the ramp and go over bridge into Ocean City. At the first traffic light make a left onto Bay Ave. Take Bay Ave all the way to 6th St. Make a right onto 6th St and follow 6th St all the way to Atlantic Ave.
