You can expect a high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

Coach Cook has designed a camp program that focuses on Cross Country fundamentals for new and experienced runners. Training concepts, race strategy, and mental preparation will be covered in detail. Additional components of camp include speed drills, stretching, and strength training.

In addition to Coach Cook, the camp is facilitated by other athletes and coaches from the Ocean City Cross Country community.

The final day of camp will allow campers to enjoy a fun XC Meet, allowing for some fun competition and building on what the campers have learned during the week!

    Tim Cook is in his 16th year at Ocean City High School - his 5th year as Head Coach of the Ocean City Girls Cross Country and 9th as Head Coach of the Track & Field Team. Coach Cook has coached multiple All-Americans, Meet of Champions winners, state champions, sectional champions, county and conference champions. He has also coached multiple county and sectional champions in cross country, along with 3 team sectional titles ('23,'24, '25) and most recently a team state title ('25).

    While at Ocean City High School, his athletes have committed to and competed for a number of collegiate programs, including Boston University, Bryant University , Catholic University, Clemson, Cornell, Kutztown University, La Salle University, Monmouth University, NJIT, St. Joe's University, Stockton University, TCNJ, Rowan University, Ursinus, and Virginia Tech.

    As well as serving as a Health & Physical Education Teacher at Ocean City High School, Coach Cook is also the Director of the Ocean City Track Club, and is a USATF Level 2 Certified Coach.

    Coach Cook has a BA in Health and Exercise Science (Rowan University), and a MA in Kinesiology (Fresno Pacific University).

    Head Coach of Mainland Regional High School Cross Country, and Track Assistant (Distance) Coach for the past 34 years. His teams and individuals have many sectional and state titles in New Jersey, as well as success in national meets and in the NCAA.

All necessary camp information is on this page. If there are any imperative changes prior to camp start, registered campers will be notified via email and this webpage will be updated!

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
  • Grouped by: age, ability and experience
  • Evaluation: by coaching staff
  • Equipment Needed: Campers should bring at least one pair of broken in running shoes. Event shoes/spikes are recommended but not required. Please be sure to properly mark your equipment, so that it can be easily identified.
  • Facility: Carey Stadium at Ocean City High School

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

ALL CAMPERS:

  • Extra Athletic clothing
  • 1-2 pairs of broken in running shoes
  • Non-running shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Sunblock
  • Packed lunch and snacks
  • Small gym bag/backpack

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

CAMP TUITION PAYMENTS

Full payment of camp fees must be completed by the first day of the month before camp. For example:

  • June Camps: final payment is due on May 1
  • July Camps: final payment is due on June 1
  • August Camps: final payment is due on July 1

Any camper with an unpaid balance 10 days before the start of their camp will forfeit all camp fees paid to date and be removed from the camp.

Your confirmation email shows your balance due and balance due date. Final payments can be made through the US Sports Camps Customer Portal or by phone at 1-800-645-3226.

BEHAVIOR POLICIES

We may ask campers who require 1×1 supervision, disrupt the camp experience, or threaten the safety of themselves or others to leave camp. Behaviors meriting expulsion include, but are not limited to: a cause or threat of violence, putting themselves or others in danger, possession of a weapon, possession or use of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, drugs or illegal substance, robbery, damage to property, sexual misconduct or assault, harassment, hazing, racist remarks or acts, or intimidation. In those cases, we will contact a parent to pick up the child immediately. We do not issue refunds to campers who are asked to leave camp.

CANCELLATION DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event a camp day is cancelled or camp hours are adjusted due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to provide make-up time. If make-up time is not possible, no refund will be issued for the first cancelled day or any shortened hours. If additional full days are cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, a pro-rated camp credit voucher will be issued for each cancelled day beyond the first.

Ocean City Field

Carey Stadium at Ocean City High School is located in Ocean City, NJ, at 5th St. and the Boardwalk. Entrances to Carey Stadium are on both 5th St and 6th St.

Driving Directions

FROM NORTH -Take the Atlantic City Expressway East. Take exit 7S for Garden State Parkway South. Take Garden State Parkway South to exit 30 for Somers Point/Ocean City. After toll booth keep straight through 2 major traffic lights over the 9th Street Bridge (Route 52 Causeway) into Ocean City. At the bottom of bridge make a left onto Bay Ave. Take Bay Ave to 6th St, make a right at 6th Street. Go down 6th Street until Atlantic Ave.

FROM SOUTH - Take the Garden State Parkway to exit 25 for Ocean City/Marmora. Make a right at the end of the ramp and go over bridge into Ocean City. At the first traffic light make a left onto Bay Ave. Take Bay Ave all the way to 6th St. Make a right onto 6th St and follow 6th St all the way to Atlantic Ave.
