Rachelle Evans-Wilson, wife and mother of three boys, was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She has had a love and passion for track and field since the age of seven. Rachelle is a 2000 graduate of Dallas Carter High School where she competed in all sprint events and relays. It was not until her junior year that she truly began to see success in the 400-meter dash, finishing 4th at the UIL state track meet in Austin. However, she finished 3rd as a senior. She completed her senior year with second team All-State honors and as one of top 400-meter recruits in Texas. In summer track while competing with USATF Association, she earned multiple All American honors in the 100, 200, and 400-meter dashes. She was the 1999 400-meter Junior Olympic Champion for Young Women.
In the spring of 2000, Rachelle continued her track and field career by signing a full scholarship to Texas Tech University. Tech immediately saw her as one of their top sprinters and 400-meter specialists. As a Red Raider, she qualified for every indoor and outdoor National Championship track meet from 2001-2004. She concluded her collegiate tenure with several Big XII athletic and academic honors, as a 3-time All-American, and a member of the fastest outdoor 4X400 relay in school history with a time of 3:29.49.
