    Isabel Valentine

    Co-Director

Isabell Valentine enters her third season on the Lewis & Clark women’s volleyball coaching staff in the fall of 2024.

The program’s lead assistant helped develop two All-Northwest Conference players, Izzy Willis and Katie Shimamura. Valentine also worked with the team on hitting and blocking. Between the 2022 and 2023 seasons, the team saw an improvement of five percent in hitting, an increase of 47 block assists and 30 total team blocks. The Pioneers also held their opponents to a lower hitting percentage (-.006) during that same time frame. Lewis & Clark recorded the third-highest aces (198) for a season as a team in 2023.

Valentine was a member of the Pioneers program from 2012-15. She overcame multiple season-ending injuries to put together a career season as a junior. During the 2014 season, she led the team in solo blocks (16) and finished second in block assists (47), kills (196) and kills per set (2.65). For her career, she posted 264 kills and 98 total blocks. She still is tied for the program record for blocks assists in a single match. Valentine posted eight block assists in a five-set win over Whitworth University.

She began her coaching career before she even graduated Lewis & Clark in 2016. Over the past decade, Valentine has worked as an assistant coach and mentor with the Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy in Beaverton, Oregon. In 2022, Valentine helped lead teams to top-10 finishes at national tournaments at the 15 and 16 age levels. She coached the number one team in the Columbia Empire Volleyball Association Regionals at the 16 (2021) and 15 (2022) age levels. Outside of coaching teams, she has also led numerous Nike camps, coached skill workshops and offered individual and group lessons.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We cannot offer scholarships due to NCAA regulations. Our affiliation with NCAA coaches and schools puts us in a position where any scholarship money can be seen as an inducement to a future collegiate athlete. This puts our coaches and our host universities in jeopardy of damaging their status with the NCAA and incurring penalties at the hands of their organizing body.

Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.
