Improve Your Skills and Have Serious Fun

The Nike Wrestling Camps with Rulon Gardner bring together an elite staff of accomplished coaches to deliver high-level instruction across all styles of wrestling. Designed for athletes of varying experience levels, this camp provides a fun, competitive, and technique-driven environment where wrestlers can sharpen their skills, build confidence, and challenge themselves daily. Whether attending the younger clinic or full-day camp, wrestlers will experience the intensity, structure, and discipline that define championship-level training.

Olympic Level Instruction

Train under Olympic-caliber leadership and nationally recognized coaching expertise. Campers receive instruction inspired by Olympic champions and world-class competitors who understand what it takes to succeed at the highest levels of the sport.

Campers will gain exposure to:

  • Collegiate-style technique development
  • Freestyle and Greco-Roman fundamentals
  • High-level positioning and mat awareness
  • Mental toughness and competitive mindset training

Daily Drills & Technique Sessions

Each day is structured around focused technical development. Campers will break down positions step-by-step and refine core fundamentals through high-repetition drilling. Technique sessions will include neutral position offense/defense, top and bottom control, chain wrestling and transitions, situational awareness, scoring strategy, and conditioning integrated into skill work.

Live Wrestling

Technique is put to the test in controlled live wrestling sessions each afternoon. Campers will compete in situational live matches designed to simulate real competition while reinforcing lessons from earlier sessions. Camp Coaches

  • Rulon Gardner

    Rulon Gardner

    Camp Director

Rulon’s wrestling career began when he was six years old. For one week every year, Star Valley would have a wrestling camp, which always concluded with a tournament on the weekend. Rulon participated in this from six years old until he started junior high school at 12 years old. Rulon began a regular wrestling season while in junior high and continued with the wrestling seasons until he graduated with a degree in physical education from the University of Nebraska. After graduating from the University of Nebraska, Rulon continued his Olympic wrestling pursuit with full-time dedication. As a member of the 2000 US Olympic wrestling team, Rulon was pitted against Russian legend Alexander Karelin, in what can only be described as a David versus Goliath scenario. Against harrowing odds, Rulon emerged as the victor. In doing so, he immediately captured the admiration of Americans, winning the gold medal in one of the biggest upsets in Olympic history. Rulon came back to the Olympics in 2004 to defend his title and took home the Bronze medal. In 2010, Rulon was inducted as a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
