Camp Overview

Improve Your Skills and Have Serious Fun

Join Eastside Pride Wrestling Club for an intensive two-day camp for athletes ages 9–18. Led by Executive Director David Duplissis with lead clinicians LaDarion Lockett and JJ Mc Commas, this two-day program pairs collegiate-level coaching with Eastside Pride’s state-of-the-art training facilities to help young wrestlers reach their full potential. Instruction emphasizes stance, positioning, setups, takedowns, escapes, and reversals, and is appropriate for wrestlers of all skill levels. Please note: Lunch is not provided. Campers will need to bring their own packed lunch each day.

  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. Campers will need to bring their own packed lunch each day.

Please note: Camp schedules and details may be subject to change. Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff and placed into groups based on age and ability level.

CAMP SCHEDULE

  • Dates:
    • Spring Break: March 28-March 29
    • Summer: 2026 Summer Camp Dates Coming Soon!
  • Camp: Saturday-Sunday
  • Ages: 9-18
  • Check-in: 9:00am
  • Check-out: 3:00pm
  • Meals: Lunch is NOT provided. Campers can purchase pizza, snacks and drinks from the camp store or can bring their own lunch.
  • Program: This program is designed to improve the fundamentals and technique for all wrestlers. Campers can expect to receive instruction through the use of drills, live wrestling, and fun games/activities.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Multiple training sessions and camp activities each day.
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised at all times.
  • Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers will receive a Nike Wrestling Camps t-shirt and prizes.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own wrestling shoes, comfortable workout clothes, headgear (optional), knee pads (optional), snacks, and a water bottle.
  • Facilities: KIPP OKC College Prep (GYM)
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

  • Signed Health & Release forms and waivers (forms completed online do not need to be printed and turned in at camp)

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided to and from camp. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

9:00am Check in, introductions, safety briefing, goals for the day

9:15am Dynamic warm up and mobility work

9:40am Fundamentals: stance, level change, penetration step; partner drilling

10:20am Water/rest break

10:30am Takedown technique (single/double leg) with progressive drills

11:15am Live situational drilling (short live rounds focusing on entries & finishes)

12:00pm Lunch on your own

1:00pm Mat work: rides, turns, escapes (par terre)

1:30pm Age appropriate conditioning and agility circuit

2:00pm Technique review and partner practice

2:30pm Controlled live wrestling (three 1 minute rounds)

2:50pm Cool down, Q&A, daily wrap up & announcements

Day 2

9:00am Check in, quick recap of Day 1, goals for Day 2

9:15am Dynamic warm up and footwork drills

9:40am Throws/upper body control and finishes (progressions & drilling)

10:20am Water/rest break

10:30am Defense and counters (sprawl, whizzer, counter shots) with partner work

11:15am Live situational rolling emphasizing counters, escapes, and transitions

12:00pm Lunch on your own

1:00pm Chain wrestling and transitions: linking moves together

1:30pm Simulated matches (short tournament or round robin format)

2:00pm Match strategy, mental game, sportsmanship talk

2:30pm Cool down and awards/certificates

2:50pm Closing remarks, next steps info, pickup
