at Nike Baseball Camps

Nike Baseball Camps is excited to return to Cal State San Marcos in 2026! Register today and enjoy elite-level training while making memories to last a lifetime. The camp offers a unique opportunity to train under the direction of dedicated coaches and current and former collegiate athletes who serve as counselors. The camp is open to athletes ages 8-17.

Day Camp (9:00am – 4:00pm)

This Day Camp program runs 9:00am-4:00pm each day and includes daytime training, fun activities, scrimmaging opportunities, and more. Campers can bring their own lunch or purchase on campus.

Athletic Facilities

Campers train at the Cal State San Marcos’ Baseball Stadium for the duration of the camp. The facility offers a beautiful field with batting cages and bullpens and offers free parking next to the field for drop-off and pick-up.

The Nike Baseball Camp at Cal State San Marcos is open to any and all entrants and limited only by number, age and gender. Athletic facilities and coaches are subject to change. The camp is not owned, sponsored, controlled or endorsed by Cal State San Marcos.

    Baseball Director

    Juan Paz is an assistant baseball coach at West LA College in Culver City, CA and serves as a lead coach for Next Athletes and Nike Baseball Camps.

    Coach Paz was previously an assistant coach at Locke High School for 7 years where he helped lead the Varsity team to 5 league championships as well as head coached the JV team one year and led them to their first league championship in school history. In addition to coaching at the high school and college level in Southern California for the past 10 years, Paz has worked for Manny Machado, Justin Turner and the San Diego Padres as a part of their ProCamps coaching staff. Coach Paz has also worked for USA Baseball helping with scouting and player evaluations to set the 2016/2017 15u National Team. Paz uses his experience as a player, coach, scout/recruiter to help develop infield play and mental resilience with a strong focus on the overall love, passion and respect for the game.

    Angel Trujillo is an assistant baseball coach at West Los Angeles College and serves as baseball director for Next Athletes and Nike Baseball Camps.

    Angel Trujillo is entering his 5th year as a baseball coach at West LA College in Culver City, CA. He was previously a head coach at Locke High School for 10 years where he lead the Varsity team to 6 league championships . In addition to coaching at the Youth, high school and college level in Southern California for the past 30 years, Trujillo has worked for Manny Machado, Justin Turner and the San Diego Padres as a part of their ProCamps coaching staff. Trujillo uses his experience as a player, coach, scout/recruiter to help develop pitching, infield play and mental resilience with a strong focus on the overall love, passion and respect for the game.

    Kayla Neff serves as site director for Next Athletes (operators of Nike Sports Camps) and is currently an assistant coach for Biola University Softball. Kayla is the main point of contact for parents across all sports at camp.

    Kayla Neff is entering her fourth year as the assistant coach for Biola University Softball where she was a standout athlete. During her time at Biola, Kayla helped Biola Softball reach the NCAA Division II National Championship and was named to the NCAA Division II All-Tournament Team. Kayla was also acknowledged for the awards below:

    • Earned All-Pacific West First Team recognition
    • Nominated by Biola University for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award
    • Earned Biola's prestigious Dr. Dave Holmquist Career Achievement Award
    • Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

    Assistant Site Director

    Payton Brown serves as an assistant site director for Next Athletes and Nike Sports Camps. Payton is currently a Division II baseball coach at Adams State University and is currently pursuing his Masters of Business Administration. Payton supports all sports and serves as an additional contact for camp families.

    Payton Brown formerly pitched for Adams State Baseball and is now an assistant coach for the program. Payton also earned the academic honors below as an athlete:

    Westy McQueen

    Camp Administrator

    Westy McQueen is the owner and camp director for Next Athletes, operator of the Nike Sports Camps at Boise State University and Westminster University. Westy has over 10 years of experience operating youth programs and has designed the Next Athletes programs with the purpose of providing a truly memorable, sport development experience for each child. Westy is a Positive Coaching Alliance certified coach, Level II U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach, and specializes in a variety of sports including tennis, volleyball, soccer, golf, and football.

CAMP INFORMATION

  • Camp Dates: July 13-16, 2026 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Ages: 8-17
  • Gender: Boys
  • Options: Day Camp (9:00am-4:00pm)
  • Check-In: 8:45am-9:00am each day at CSUSM Baseball Stadium
  • Check-Out: 4:00pm each day at CSUSM Baseball Stadium
  • Meals: Day campers are required to bring their own lunch each day.
  • Apparel: All campers should arrive at check-in dressed in their athletic apparel and ready to train.

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money. Please label all luggage/equipment with an easily identifiable tag with the camper's full name and contact info.

  • Small gym bag/backpack
  • Athletic clothing: t-shirt, shorts, baseball pants (recommended)
  • Warm-up jacket
  • Hat
  • Cleats & Running or Athletic Shoes
  • Baseball glove
  • Baseball bat
  • Helmet
  • Catchers gear (if applicable)
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Packed lunch and snacks (day campers only)
  • Please label all athletic equipment with an easily identifiable tag which has the camper’s full name and contact info

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Sports Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.

CANCELLATION DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event a camp day is cancelled or camp hours are adjusted due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to provide make-up time. If make-up time is not possible, no refund will be issued for the first cancelled day or any shortened hours. If additional full days are cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, a pro-rated camp credit voucher will be issued for each cancelled day beyond the first.
