Instruction will focus on the following -

  • Hitting: At our campsite, we offer two full batting cage facilities for camp use. Our cages are 3 full tunnels each with a 4th tunnel for tee work and toss. Tunnels are equipped with full-pitching mounds. Our cages are turfed, lighted, and covered. We also have 6 pitching machines to ensure every player gets maximum repetitions. We also will hit on our main diamond at Ben Hines Field and take live reps during camp.
  • Fielding: We offer proper throw and catch training every day from our proprietary throwing program. We also break into position groups to train defense daily. Basic to advanced ground ball, flyball, and catching work is offered daily. We have a full diamond, a smaller field, and a large area for extended drills.
  • Pitching: We have 7 full pitching mounds at the University of La Verne. We utilize our facility and staff to train our young arms in proper mechanics from the wind-up and stretch. We incorporate pick-offs and runner control training.
  • Baserunning: We train our campers to learn baserunning by doing it. We will teach proper leads and reads as well as base stealing, going from first to 3rd and scoring. We will teach campers the figure 4 slide and practice most days.
  • Scrimmage games will be played on the last two days of camp and will be directed and supervised by coaches. Learning will be the emphasis, as coaches will stop the scrimmage frequently to go over strategies and develop game scenarios.

  • July 20, 2023: Overall it has been a positive and fun experience for my son. This speaks to the quality of coaching and environment they create.

  • July 21, 2023: My son had a blast every single day. He participated in a baseball camp last summer that he hated, during which he felt criticized by coaches. However, he had nothing but glowing things to say about this camp experience. I know he worked on skills during the day, but more importantly, he had fun and felt supported during it!

  • July 24, 2023: My child really loved participating on a college campus and the U of La Verne facilities were top notch. I really appreciated the opportunities for breaks/lunch in an air conditioned environment. I also really liked the thoughtfulness of arranging the schedule to have drills during the cooler morning hours and covered hitting cages in the hotter afternoon hours. Just can't say enough about this camp and Director: FANTASTIC and we really appreciated being a part of this camp
