Abbey Frail joined the Wright State coaching staff in January 2022.

Frail joined the Raiders after two seasons on the staff at her alma mater Wingate University, including serving as the interim head coach in fall 2021 where she guided the program to an 11-6 overall record.

Frail had a standout career for the Bulldogs, culminating in the 2019 season when she helped lead the Bulldogs to an appearance in the NCAA regional title match. The former goalkeeper piled up the awards in her playing career, especially in her senior season. She earned first team Academic All-America honors from CoSIDA, while also being named the 2019 women's soccer SAC Scholar-Athlete. She also earned third team Scholar All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches. Frail earned first team All-SAC accolades in her senior season, while also earning All-Region recognition from the United Soccer Coaches and D2CCA.

Frail and the Bulldogs played in the SAC Tournament title match in three of her four seasons, while finishing the season ranked 16th nationally in 2019. Frail also got it done in the classroom throughout her Wingate career, earning a spot on the Wingate President's List every semester and the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll every year. She graduated summa cum laude at Wingate's May 2019 graduation ceremony with a 3.92 GPA, majoring in history with a minor in political science, and was a NCAA Woman of the Year nominee in 2020. She earned her master’s in sport management from Wingate in 2020.
