Aimee Haywood

Aimee Haywood enters her fourth season at the helm of the Ohio Dominican women’s soccer team in fall 2019 as the program begins its third year of competition in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

A graduate of Ohio Dominican, Haywood was named head coach on March 17, 2016 after spending four seasons as an assistant coach with the program and another season as an assistant coach at Denison University.

In just her second season as head coach in 2017, the Panthers set a program record for wins in a season with 16 victories and earned their first NCAA Championship win in program history. ODU women’s soccer has competed in two NCAA Championships in the last four seasons.

In her first year as head coach in 2016, Haywood led the Panthers to a fourth-place GLIAC regular season finish and saw the squad advance to the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament before falling to 2016 NCAA Division II National Runner-Up, Grand Valley State.

During Haywood's four seasons as an assistant coach at Ohio Dominican, the program compiled a 45-26-7 record, qualified for the GLIAC Tournament each season and captured the 2014 GLIAC women’s soccer regular-season championship while earning a berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Haywood has helped recruit and develop one D2CCA First Team All-American, four All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference performers, two GLIAC Freshmen of the Year, 11 first and second team All-GLIAC selections as well as numerous all-region and Academic All-American honorees.

Additionally, as a part-time faculty member at Ohio Dominican, Haywood has taught sport management courses and is the internship coordinator for the sport management program.

Haywood spent one season coaching at Denison, helping turn around a program that had finished 6-11 in the year prior to her arrival and assisted in guiding Denison to the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference championship.

As a student-athlete at Ohio Dominican, Haywood was a two-time captain who earned a pair of all-conference awards, as well as academic honors. A goalkeeper, she graduated as the school record holder for most shutouts in a season, games played in a season and games played in a career as a goalkeeper.

Haywood is the fourth coach in Ohio Dominican women's soccer history.
