Ashley Johnston
Head Softball Coach, College of Southern Nevada

Ashley Johnson is the head softball coach at College of Southern Nevada and serves as a lead coach for Next Athletes and Nike Softball Camps.
Ashley Johnston is entering her seventh season as the head coach of the Lady Coyotes. She brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to the College of Southern Nevada. Prior to joining CSN, Johnston led the Lady Jets of Northern Oklahoma College to a 32-24 season, finishing fourth in the Region 2 Conference. Before her tenure at NOC, she spent a year at Polk State College in Winter Haven, FL, competing in the Region 8 Conference.
Johnston's coaching career began at Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC) in Athens, TX, where she started the softball program in 2008. Over eight years in the DI Region XIV conference, she compiled an overall record of 260-247. In 2013, after four years of building the program, she led TVCC to a school-record 33 wins and qualified for the National Tournament in St. George, Utah. The team was also the 2013 regional runner-up for Region XIV. In 2014, the Lady Cardinals posted a 31-win season, narrowly missing a return to the National Tournament. Johnston's success earned her national rankings, finishing 2013 ranked 14th and starting the 2014 season ranked 12th.
Before her time at TVCC, Johnston was the head coach at York College in York, NE, leading the Lady Panthers to a fourth-place conference standing and a second-place finish in the conference tournament. She began her coaching career as an assistant at Paris Junior College in Paris, TX, where she helped lead the Lady Dragons to their first-ever Region XIV tournament appearance, finishing third. She then served as the interim head softball coach at College of the Desert in Palm Springs, CA, where the Lady Roadrunners placed third in the Foothill Conference.
Johnston is a native of West Monroe, LA, where she played for the West Monroe Lady Rebels and won her first 5A State Softball title in 1998. She played in the Region XIV conference while attending Bossier Parish Community College, graduating with an Associate's Degree in 2003. She continued her playing career with the Lady Techsters at Louisiana Tech University and finished at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and a Minor in Psychology. Johnston completed her Master's Degree in Kinesiology at Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX, in 2006 while coaching at Paris Junior College.
