Camp Director
Coach Barry Calef is the head coach for both the boys' and girls' tennis teams at Robert C. Byrd High School. With extensive experience in coaching junior players, he specializes in developing athletes in the 11-18 age group, from beginner to advanced levels.
A familiar face in the Nike Tennis community, Coach Calef previously served as an instructor at the University of Virginia’s Nike Tennis Camp, where he worked with some of the country’s top junior players, helping them hone their skills and advance in their tennis careers.
Coach Calef is passionate about teaching tennis at all levels. He has a proven track record of success in high school athletics, focusing on instilling proper technique, effective movement, and strong, positive habits in his players. His commitment to growth, both personally and for his athletes, is a key reason for his success and the development of his players.
