Ben Mortimer
Coaching Excellence and Collegiate Success
Ben Mortimer joined the UDC men's soccer staff in April 2024, immediately making an impact by helping the Firebirds secure their first-ever ECC Championship in his inaugural season.
A decorated alumnus of the George Washington men's soccer program (2002-2006), Mortimer was a key player during their most successful period, contributing to two Atlantic 10 championships. His individual accolades include All-Conference, All-Region, and All A-10 Championship honors.
After graduating, Coach Ben transitioned into a coaching career spanning nearly two decades. He spent seven years on staff at American University, where he was part of a program that achieved 62 wins and two Patriot League regular season titles. Coach Ben continued his college coaching career with a 3 season stint at George Washington University. His extensive experience also includes roles as technical director for Excite Soccer, a decade with DC Soccer Club's leadership team, and since 2012, owning and operating FourSoccer, which runs local camps and clinics.
Mortimer holds a USSF National A License, National Youth License, National Goalkeeping License, a Premier Diploma, and is a National Coaching Education Instructor for US Soccer.
