Brianna Shaw

Brianna Shaw is from Staten Island, NY, and a recent SUNY Oneonta alum. Shaw graduated in the Class of 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with Pre-Medicine Concentration. Brianna was a 4-year student-athlete on the SUNY Oneonta Women’s tennis team; with accolades such as SUNYAC Champion, NCAA Division III participant in the Team Tournament, All-Conference Team (First and Second Team in both singles and doubles), and SUNYAC All-Tournament team. Shaw was also captain and Student Athlete Advisory Council Secretary in her senior year. She had also played in numerous singles and doubles positions, and primarily played 2^nd singles and 1^st doubles in her senior year.

Outside of tennis, Brianna served as a Resident Advisor on campus for 3 years in upper and lower classmen buildings. She was also a member of an international synthetic biology competition that earned a silver medal, and Student Director on the Oneonta Foundation Board for 3 years- among other commitments.

In the previous summers, Brianna was a bunk counselor and tennis instructor at a camp in Maine- with experience teaching 45-minute lessons to over 40 students for an 8-week summer camp. Brianna returns to SUNY Oneonta this summer and is eager to share her passion for tennis, and cultivate a positive environment for tennis players to thrive in.

Brianna had also graduated from Curtis High School in Staten Island, NY and played 1^st singles for all 4 years. She had received the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Her parents are Glenn and Ava Shaw. Her father competed at the Division I level on the Wagner College Men’s Tennis Team. Brianna also has a brother.
