Carlos Alvarez

Carlos is a former professional player in MLS, Liga MX, and Europe. He graduated from the University of Connecticut where he was a 1st team All-American, NCAA Rookie of the year and two-time Big East Champion. He went on to be drafted to Chivas USA as the second overall pick in the MLS draft. Alvarez enjoyed a successful career in MLS, Liga MX, and played in the Champion’s League with Valur, the top league of men’s football in Iceland. Since retiring, Carlos has been a director of coaching at San Diego Surf, where he has been developing young professionals and collegiate athletes since 2021.
