Dave Allen
Camp Director

Dave Allen enters his 27th season as head coach of the Mount Holyoke College swimming and diving program. Allen also serves as the Aquatics Director and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physical Education and Athletics.
At Mount Holyoke College
- Over 200 College and pool records have fallen under Allen's leadership.
- Several athletes have qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships, including three-time NCAA National All-American Cathleen Pruden, who was also an eight-time NEWMAC Champion and the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year in both 2015 & 2016.
- Has accumulated a dual meet record of 103-82-1, and his 2007-08 and 2015-16 squads posted the top grade point average in the nation among women’s teams competing at the NCAA Division III level.
Before Mount Holyoke College
- Prior to joining the Mount Holyoke staff, Allen was an assistant swimming and diving coach at both the University of Rochester (1997-98) and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (1995-97). While at St. Mary’s, he also served as an Athletic Trainer (1993-95).
- Allen earned his Master of Science Degree in exercise science-human performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his Bachelor of Science in physical education from Bridgewater State College.
Camp Director
- Dave served as a Director and Assistant Director and Associate Head coach for 35 years with United States Sports Camps Ltd. based out of VA. He has been involved in the camp from 1988 until 2022.
Personal
- Allen is an American Red Cross certified instructor in water safety, lifeguarding, CPR and community first aid.
