Gary Salazar
Camp Director

Gary brings years of experience, both as a player and coach, to his role as Director. He holds two prestigious certifications: a USPTA Elite Tennis Professional license and a USTA High Performance Coach certification. With his passion for developing young talent and his deep understanding of the game, Gary continues to make a lasting impact in the tennis world.
Gary began playing tennis at the age of 6 and by 8, was already competing in junior tournaments across Southern California. He steadily climbed the ranks, becoming a top-ranked junior in the SoCal 16’s division and earning a national ranking in the 18’s. This success led him to play Division 1 tennis at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he continued to excel. After college, Gary maintained his competitive edge, earning a national ranking in the Men's Open division.
As a coach, Gary first took the reins of the girls' tennis team at Corona Del Mar High School, leading them to three consecutive CIF Championships. He also served as the Head of Junior Development at the Palisades Tennis Club, further refining his coaching skills.
Gary then relocated to Idaho, where he is currently the Head Coach of Rocky Mountain High School. In 2022, he led his team to a State Championship and was honored as Idaho Coach of the Year.
