Haley Taormina

Haley Taormina joined Norfolk State University as the assistant softball coach in September 2023.

Taormina is no stranger to the Hampton Roads area having coached local youth softball and baseball teams including the Chesapeake Chargers youth baseball and Southern Chesapeake Diamond softball teams. She also helped establish a local neighborhood softball team, the New Mill Kids in Chesapeake, Va.

She recently graduated from George Mason University in May of 2023 with a degree in business management and a minor in sports management.

Taormina was a four-year letter winner for the Patriots collecting several Atlantic-10 accolades while playing for the Green and Gold as well as playing a key role in helping the Patriots claim the 2023 A-10 Championship, the first in program history. Taormina was a two-time second-team all-conference honoree and a 2023 A-10 all-tournament selection. While playing for the Patriots, Taormina appeared in 141 games making 134 starts. She recorded 120 hits in 392 at-bats and drove in 84 RBI with 36 doubles, four triples and 15 home runs.

As a member of the Patriot softball team, Taormina assisted in running several summer camps for middle and high school prospects and teams.

Prior to playing for the Patriots, Taormina was a four-year letter winner at Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, Va. She collected numerous All-Conference, All-Region, All-State and All-Tidewater selections during her four years with the Grizzlies.
