Jacob Cook

A local product of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Jacob Cook has more than 20 years of coaching experience in both tennis and pickleball.

He is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association and Professional Pickleball Registry. He has been a member of USA Pickleball and United States Tennis Association (USTA) for many years. Cook earned his pickleball coaching certification from Collin Johns, one of the world’s top ranked players in the sport. He came to love pickleball after years of playing and coaching tennis. From a ranked junior on the court to an accomplished collegiate athlete, Cook found a passion for coaching and success in translating his skills and knowledge to others in easy to understand, relatable ways that resonate with his students of all ages and ability levels.

As an instructor at The Tennis Center at College Park and the Junior Tennis Champions Center- one of the world’s premier tennis training grounds and home to the first USTA Regional Training Center- Cook had the opportunity to train world class athletes, coaching several current ATP Tour players as upstarts during his time in College Park, Md.

Cook was a three-year letterman for the Salisbury University Sea Gulls. He received all Capital Athletic Conference accolades in both singles and doubles during his time on the courts, joining the team as a transfer from Frostburg State University. Cook’s freshman year with the cross-state rival Bobcats he was named Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Rookie of the Year and helped lead the team to its first and only undefeated season in school history. He was also named first team all-AMCC in both singles and doubles.

A proud native of Ocean City, Md., Cook graduated from Salisbury University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree. He earned his master’s in publications design from the University of Baltimore in 2009.
