Jason Olive is a volleyball player and coach with an extensive background in both indoor and beach volleyball.
Coach Olive played in the California State Finals for St. Bernard Highschool and qualified for his first professional Beach Open the same year. Coach Olive then accepted a scholarship to play at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. While at Hawai'i Jason set many school volleyball records, was awarded the inaugural Governor's Award for Academic Excellence, was named the University's top Scholar-Athlete, received the Jack Bonham Award for academic excellence, athletic accomplishment and community service, was a member of the Deans List every year while leading The Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors to their first ever appearance in the NCAA Final Four. Coach Olive was named to the Outrigger All Tournament Team, Asics Gran Prix All Tournament Team, Molsen Classic All-Tournament Team and a First Team All MPSF and First Team All-American. His team was ranked #2 in the nation in 1995 and set the national attendance record for the entire sport at over 10,000 people a game en route to becoming the MPSF Pacific Division Champions. Many of Coach Oliveʻs records still stand within the top 10 all-time in University of Hawai’i history. In 2024 Coach Olive won the USAV Masters Division National Open Gold Medal with Balboa Bay. Coach loves sharing his unique vision of the sport which has been informed by some of the greatest coaches and players in the game. From the first day of volleyball to preparing for professional competition, Coach Olive enjoys passing down the rules and secrets to the art of the game. Coach Olive is the Founder of the Hawaiian Island Volleyball Festival held every June in Honolulu.
