Head Women's Soccer Coach

Jason Weisberg

The 2023 Skyline Conference Champions have a new leader of the program.

University of Mount Saint Vincent Director of Athletics and Recreation Phil Stern appointed Jason Weisberg as the newest head soccer coach of the women's soccer program, effective immediately. Weisberg is set to replace former head coach Stuart Dick, who won 33 games and the aforementioned conference crown in his three seasons with the Dolphins.

Weisberg has also earned the title of Associate Director of Athletics, where he'll oversee compliance for the University.

"Jason brings a wealth of experience from every level of soccer. His local and national recruiting ties, along with his knowledge of the game, makes him the perfect choice to continue the success of the women's soccer program," stated Stern. "Jason aligns with our core values and will continue to give our student-athletes a positive experience on and off the field."

"I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to begin the next chapter of my coaching journey and for the support the UMSV community has shown me through this process. I truly enjoyed my time at Wesleyan University and thank Eva for the support, growth and experience I gained there," Weisberg told UMSVAthletics.com. "I want to thank Phil Stern and the search committee for their support in the process. It was great to feel so connected with Phil's vision for the program and overall athletics at the university. You can feel the energy and passion of the coaches and staff who are looking to move the needle forward and put UMSV on the map. I am excited to work with such a talented group of players who have proven themselves with a conference title last season and hope to continue to make the program and University proud during this exciting time."

Weisberg makes his way to Riverdale after an impressive stint with Wesleyan University, where he served as the associate head coach for the Cardinals from 2021 through the program's 2023 campaign. The Cardinals were recognized as one of the top team's in the region under Weisberg's tenure, as the team advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 2021 and was ranked as high as fourth nationally in the same season, as well as earning the NESCAC Coaching Staff of the Year Award and United States Region Staff of the Year. Wesleyan also appeared in the Division-III NCAA tournament in both 2022 and 2023 after reaching the NESCAC Championship Tournament.

Weisberg spent seven years as an assistant coach with Division-I Fairleigh Dickinson University prior to his time in Middletown, where he helped guide the Knights to three regular season conference titles, six Northeast Conference postseason appearances, as well as an NEC Championship and NCAA tournament appearance in the 2015 season.

Weisberg's collegiate coaching experience spans all collegiate levels. He spent time on the staffs at Division-I Iona University and Manhattan College across seven seasons while also helping coach Division-II Dominican University, as well as junior college ASA College.

Weisberg also adds years of experience at the club level throughout the tri-state area.

A former director of Coaching for New York Rush and Manhattan Soccer Club in years past, Weisberg also coached teams in both the Westchester, Hudson Valley and on Long Island. He also holds a USSF "A" license and earned a NSCAA Premier Diploma in Curitiba, Brazil. He also received a NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma and USSF Youth License along the way.

"The former coach and the players have put themselves in a great position to have another great season in 2024. We will make sure that we focus on the day-to-day work that they did to achieve their success leading up to and in the 2023 season. We cannot take anything for granted and will work even harder this time around to achieve our new program standards," said Weisberg when asked about taking over the program.

Weisberg played collegiate soccer at Stony Brook University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. He received his Master's degree in counseling psychology from Pace University.
